SoundCloud will be hosting the Gaming Tournament Player One event within Fortnite, which will include a virtual appearance by rapper Rico Nasty. You can find all the info about it here.
On Wednesday, music streaming platform SoundCloud announced that they're teaming up with Twitch to launch SoundCloud Player One, a three-hour gaming tournament that kicks off February 18 at 8PM Eastern Time.
What Will the Tournament Look Like?
SoundCloud Player One is the name of a brand-new online tournament that will bring together SoundCloud gamers and rappers in an epic, interactive experience. Hosted by Esports commentator, MonsterDface, and rapper Rico Nasty, eight SoundCloud artists will compete and duke it out in Fortnite's Battle Royale. In the process, they're planning a whole host of surprises that will be announced in the coming days, including the full player lineup, exclusive prizes, and more.
“With so many of our creators and listeners sharing a genuine passion for gaming culture, we're entering the gaming space for the first time, to bring them together in an innovative way, and connect aspiring Creators with new fans,” wrote Erika Leone, SoundCloud's VP of Brand Marketing.
When Will the Event Take place?
The tournament will be streamed live on SoundCloud's Facebook page and Twitch channel on February 18, from 8 PM – 11 PM EST, where fans can join in and interact with the players by cheering them on in real-time chat.
The nocturnes among us can watch the event at 2 AM. Okay pretty late, but hey, if you have nothing better to do, it's certainly a nice way to pass the time.
You can find all the other info on the official SoundCloud Player One website.
