The popular 1v1 dueling mode in Fortnite is called Box Fight! Two contestants enter a map and fight to the death. Epic Game’s plans to have an official Box Fight Tournament very soon.

On October 28 as a part of the Wild Wednesday tournament series, Fortnite will explore the space of 1v1 competitive duels via the Box Fight Tournament. The tournament will take place on the creative map design by HassanFTN and Shride winners of the Princess Castle Creative contest.

What is Box Fight?

Box Fighting is when two players are fighting within one tile of each other and inside a box that is built before the fight begins. Once the box is built the duel begins, the best builder/shooter with the skills to pay the bills usually wins. It’s a fast-paced duel and rewards players with sound mechanical skills in both building and aiming. If you have ever seen the end game of a regular pro match of Fortnite it often ends in a Box Fight. Therefore, to practice this end game many players started to host creative lobbies to duel each other and practice. This is how Box Fighting was born.

To play in the first Official Box Fight Tournament, players must be Open League (Division II) in Arena or higher and meet the age requirements, typically set at 16 to 18 years old. The prize pool should follow the same structure as other Wild Wednesday Tournaments. You should find the sign-up page in your playlist when the tournament goes live.

This tournament will definitely be hard to win as the skill needed to Box Fight is very high and probably lots of good players will join it. So good luck if you plan on competing!
