In just a few days, this year's Winterfest event in Fortnite will begin, bringing with it Christmas spirit, free gifts, and cool challenges. We have all the details for you right here.
Fortnite Winterfest has officially been confirmed by Epic Games with patch 19.01 and fans are hyped. We had to wait a year for the Winter Hut to come back and reward us with Christmas-themed free cosmetics. But, of course, that wasn't all. Even though Epic is currently keeping the details under wraps, there are some leakers who are diligently digging into the files for information. In addition, Epic Games has sent a Christmas card to some Fortnite creators, such as TaborTime, with the following info:
- Winterfest will start on December 16
- There will be challenges
- There will be frosty, fresh item
So here comes everything we know so far about Fortnite's Winterfest 2021.
Epic Games has sent a Christmas Card to content creators such as @TaborTimeYT, in the card it mentions the following:- Winterfest Starts December 16th- There will be Challenges- There will be "frosty fresh Items" pic.twitter.com/4ZRuEXqH9x

When Does The Fortnite Winterfest 2021 Begin?
As mentioned above, Winterfest will start on December 16, 2021, after which it will last until January 6, 2022. We imagine there will also be a small New Year's Eve special in Fortnite, just like every year, but we will have to wait and see!
The Winter Hut is back
We've been eagerly awaiting it and to everyone's delight, it's coming back and bringing a bunch of free gifts too! Those who have been playing Fortnite for a few years know the DL, so break out the hot cocoa and candy canes as we spread a little X-MAS joy!
In the lobby, there is a button that takes us to a fancy hut with a chad-like Fortnite Santa Claus sitting on a primo chair. A small fire is burning, a few stockings are hanging over the fireplace, and here we see Sgt. Winter sitting on a cozy chair, with presents everywhere (Editor: rhyme king right here). Every day, there's one to open, and not only do you get cosmetics like pickaxes and gliders, but also free Fortnite skins!
These are the names of the already leaked free Fortnite Winterfest cosmetics:
- Winterfest 2021 banner
- Foundation chem-trails
- Christmas sweater weapon wrap
- Winterfest 2021 loading screen
- Winterfest 2021 music pack
- Epic Thread emote
- Festive Scholar skin (not Blizzabelle)
- Winter Lights weapon wrap
- Winterfest 2021 Spray
- Shovel Man pickaxe
- Fortnite x Matrix Glider
- Animated Winterfest 2021 Emote
- Banana Winter skin
In addition, there are always a few other little surprises to discover in the hut if you search for them!

Christmas NPCs On The Fortnite Map
According to the leakers, there will also be some new NPCs on the Fortnite map that will equip you with winter items. A certain NPC in particular catches our eye here and this would be Sgt. Winter, who will apparently be driving a Christmas-themed "Truck" that is decorated with balloons and plays Christmas music like Jingle Bells. He's also said to drop off some gifts. Some will be good gifts and others will be bad gifts. We think epic is going for the 'naughty or nice and checking his list twice' thing here.
Apparently you can also shoot him, but he will shoot back and has 600 HP with Blue and Green life bars! And who wants to shoot Santa Claus anyway, as this would make you a super Grinch!
New Christmas Skins
There's already a big pile of Christmas skins in Fortnite. But that doesn't mean there can't be more. Dataminers have leaked some cool festive skins that should be coming to Fortnite soon. Among them, the new anime skin Reina and a new version of Isabelle, which apparently will even be free.
Of course, as always, there will be some winter challenges and Christmas decorations on the Fortnite map. We're looking forward to dancing in front of the Christmas trees so see you in Fortnite for a little winter cheer!ALL NEW SKINS & VARIANTS! pic.twitter.com/0h4I3YvsHg
