Fortnite leaker Hypex has revealed two new skins, and some Fortnite cosmetics, based on Dune. The Dune Fortnite skins may even feature Zendaya!
Folks, new Fortnite characters have been leaked, and they are none other than Paul Atreides and Chani from Dune, the 1965 novel from author Frank Herbert. The franchise has recently been turned into a Hollywood film, with the two protagonists played by Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya respectively.
Fortnite has historically featured a number of fantastic crossovers and collaborations with movie franchises, other games, celebrities, and internet personalities. It looks like the Fortnite x Dune crossover will be the next big franchise to join the Battle Royale.
What is Dune?
Dune is an American science fiction story, originally released as a novel by Frank Herbert in 1965, but recently turned into a blockbuster sci-fi film in 2021. Directed by Denis Villeneuve, Dune's most recent reincarnation is the second film adaptation of the novel, after David Lynch's 1984 film. It is the first part of a planned two-part film adaption.
The books (and films) are set in the distant future, following Paul Atreides, a member of "House Atreides". He and his family are drawn into a war for the dangerous desert planet Arrakis between the native people of the Fremen and the hostile invaders, the House of Harkonnen. The main characters in the film are played by well-known actors such as Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Stephen McKinley Henderson and Zendaya.

When is the Fortnite x Dune Release Date?
The official US theatrical release of "Dune" is scheduled for Friday, October 22, 2021. We're sure that will be the day Dune Cosmetics will come to Fortnite to celebrate the premiere of the film. The film is, however, available for viewing at select theaters around the globe even before October 22. It's great, you should check it out!
