If Misfits were expecting an easy win against a G2 Esports playing with a substitute AD carry, they were sorely disappointed. Even without Luka "Perkz" Perković, G2 were a cut above their opponents.

After several strong games – and a loss to SK Gaming – G2 Esports would have entered LEC's Week 4 as favorites but they were playing without their star AD carry Perkz. Misfits Gaming, on the other hand, were coming off a 3-game winning streak and this looked like the best time to take down the spring champions.

Things started well for the challengers – an early gank mid gave Fabian "FEBIVEN" Diepstraten’s Azir an advantage over Rasmus "Caps" Winther’s Kog’Maw. However, the first fight ended with G2 taking first blood as Misfits’ top laner Danny "Dan Dan" Le Comte teleported in the enemy team. The teams were soon back to even, but as the game went on, Caps was able to secure several other kills and soon overtook his opponent.

The game went clearly in G2’s favor after a 4-0 with a triple kill going to their mid laner. The spring champions never looked back and quickly took over the game. Another two kills around the 20-minute mark resulted in an early Baron and with it they smashed the Misfits defenses. Three minutes later, Misfits would start a fight near their top lane only for G2 to get an extended ace and end the game shortly afterward.

It was another impressive win for the Spring Split champions, doubly so as they were playing with a substitute – though from what he showed today, Kristoffer "P1noy" Pedersen did not look too out of place either. Despite a decent start, Misfits found no answer to Cap’s Kog’maw – even without a composition tailored to protect him, he tore open the teamfights.
