Assassin's Creed: Valhalla has been gracing our screens for a couple of months now, and the Viking setting has been an absolute blast! This begs the question: where next? There have been some big rumors recently, including perhaps a Medieval German setting, but what else could be on the books?
In our previous article, we addressed a bunch of rumors regarding the next Assassin's Creed. The article mentioned two main settings that hold big potential: France, and Medieval Germany. Wow! These could be really cool, but perhaps France is less likely, due to the existence of the giant bug in game-form Assassin's Creed: Unity.
Anyhow, where else? We noticed, on our beloved Facebook channel, a couple of fantastic suggestions from our users. That's right! We read your comments. Creepy? Nah, just a great way to get content... We won't mention names cause...privacy, but these are some of the best suggestions that we have seen. If you mentioned any of these bad-boys, then we salute you!
Assassin’s Creed: Samurai (Feudal Japan!)
This idea is pretty cool, but let's be honest, that is basically just Ghost of Tsushima. Also, that game had super great combat (better than probably any Assassin's Creed). Throw in some modern times elements, because who wouldn't want to climb around Tokyo, and you could be in for an awesome formula!
There's a bunch of cool stuff that you could do in a Japanese setting, including playing as a Samurai Assassin, maybe enter some cool-ass temples, hell yeah! Just fill it with the stereotypes...because, let's be honest, that is what would happen... and you could be in for a pretty epic experience!
Assassin's Creed: Civil War (The American Civil War, of course)
Well, Ubisoft could make up for the clusterf**k that was Assassins Creed 3 with another America-based title set during the Civil War. Who wouldn't want to face off against Robert E. Lee, in the historical struggle against slavery? Maybe, we could get that classic Assassin's Creed conspiracy s**t, and give some good publicity to the confederates... on second thought, that's probably not the best idea.
Assassin's Creed: Hawaiian Nightmare (Hawaii setting, obviously)
Pineapples, volcano's, mojitos in the sun... boy, gotta miss that travel. Anyway, it could be a legitimately nice setting for an Assassin's Creed game. Super interesting history, and super interesting concepts have arisen! One commenter suggested an Assassin's Creed set in the post-Hawaiian Kingdom, just after the local civilization was overthrown. The idea is that the colonists face off against you – an Assassin-trained Hawaaian! Shout out, bro, that's a cool idea!
Assassin's Creed: G'day Mate! (Living in an Aussie wonderland!)
Very close to my heart, we gotta climb those gum-trees, build those fortresses and eat those snakes. Actually, thinking about snakes, maybe they could build upon the awful snake combat from Valhalla? There is tons that you could do! Set it in Sydney, replace the boat/ship combat with Kangaroo combat? Oh, and you could set it during the Great Emu War of 1932. Yes, that's a thing, here's a Wikipedia article to back that up. Speaking of backs, let's head back to the Kangaroo topic - there's certainly no more need for those terrible horse mechanics – these bouncy champions can come to the rescue! AUSSIE, AUSSIE, AUSSIE!
Assassin's Creed: South America!
Well, there were a lot of examples in the comments of humans suggesting this killer idea. These examples include more specific examples, of examples of different countries. That was deliberately confusing, and we do not apologize for that. Thus, here's a sweet list of ideas:
- Brazil
- Peru
- Venezuela
- Ah, you get the picture
There are tons of countries in South America, and a lot of them were mentioned... there is some really interesting history, some really interesting people, and some really interesting settings. This begs the question: what's not to love?
Assassin's Creed: Rome (Back to the Roman Empire)
Alright, we'll finish strong. This is probably the most likely option we have at our disposal. Yes, we've already headed to Italy and Rome with good ol’ Ezio, but a title set at the height of the Roman Empire? F**kin’ fantastic, if you do ask us! There is so much history to cover, and so many wonderful settings to explore. We would love to explore the Forum Romano with our Assassin buddies, and maybe stab Cesare in the back?
Alright, that was Shakespeare, but there are tons of fantastic ideas! We especially loved the British India idea. F**k that would be good. GET IT DONE, UBISOFT! Anyway, bye...
