Recently, Nintendo announced their new game Pokémon Legends: Arceus. The open world game for Nintendo Switch still leaves many questions unanswered, but we can already take a look at the Pokémon that will most likely be featured in our next adventure.

In case you missed the announcement of Pokémon Legends: Arceus, then be sure to read our article about it. For everyone else: Welcome back for more Pokémon info! Let's take a look at the Pokémon that will be featured in Arceus.

Legendary Pokémon: Arceus

Arceus is known as the very first Pokémon ever. The first time Arceus was seen was in the Gen IV games Diamond & Pearl on the Nintendo DS. The legendary creature even got its own movie in 2009: Arceus and the Jewel of Life.

There are many legendary creatures in the Pokémon franchise, but Arceus is said to be not only the first Pokémon ever, but also the deity who created the entire universe. The Pokédex of Arceus states that:

According to the legends of Sinnoh, this Pokémon emerged from an egg and shaped all there is in this world.

By default, the Alpha Pokémon is a Normal type, although it can transform into any element in the game. Typically, Arceus can be recognized by the yellow ring around its waist, which changes color depending on its type.

Before Mega Evolutions, Arceus had the highest base stats in the entire series, with a total of 720 base stat points.

Legendary Pokémon: Dialga, Palkia & Giratina

The Sinnoh legends Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina are often referred to as the "Creation Trio" because of their ability to control space, time, and antimatter. However, according to lore, Arceus brought all three creatures to life when he created the Sinnoh region.

It is not yet certain whether these three legendary Pokémon will appear in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. However, since it takes us to the Sinnoh region, it's not exactly unlikely. Dialga and Palkia will already make an appearance in the Diamond and Pearl remakes.

Starter Pokémon: Cyndaquil, Rowlet & Oshawott

We already got to see the starter Pokémon in the very first trailer. We have the choice between Cyndaquil, Rowlet and Oshawott. Currently, there is much speculation as to why these three Pokémon in particular were chosen, since they do not originate from the Sinnoh region.

Originally, the starter Pokémon in Sinnoh were Chimchar, Turtwig and Piplup. So why not go with these again? Maybe the whole thing has to do with the story of Arceus, or maybe the developers didn't want there to be too much overlap with the remakes.

More Pokémon From the Sinnoh Region

Since Arceus takes us to the Sinnoh region again, we can already look forward to some Pokémon. In the trailer, we have already spotted the following Pokémon: Piplup, Bidoof, Shinx, Rhyorn, Riolu, Chingling, Gallade, Garchomp, Starly, Chimchar, Turtwig and Budew.

One Pokémon that unfortunately hasn't been seen yet, but MUST be in the game, is Hariyama.

Yeah yeah, this Pokémon is not actually from the Sinnoh region, but neither are the starters! He would fit the setting perfectly, and I just want to have this guy as a bodyguard!
