Gareth Bale has joined the list of football players investing in esports. The Welsh superstar has assumed a co-ownership role with Elleven Esports – a subsidiary of 38 Entertainment.
Gareth Bale – a football superstar diving into the pool of esports
There are many footballers who have materialized their passion for gaming by jumping into the esports industry, but not many of them can claim a resume that rivals that of Gareth Bale.
The Real Madrid player broke the transfer record at the time when he completed his move from Tottenham to Madrid in 2013. He filled his trophy cabinet in the Spanish capital with a national league title and four Champions Leagues which propelled him from being a highly talented but ultimately unsuccessful player at Tottenham to a legitimate global star.
Having conquered the football mountain peak, Bale turned his head towards the esports scene. The Welshman has decided to invest in Elleven Esports, becoming co-owner of the organization along with 38 Entertainment.
Naturally, he’s also stepped in as the franchise’s brand ambassador and it didn’t take long for his first appearance in Ellevens media. Bale introduced himself and the Ellevens squad in a stylish video announcing the new partnership between the organization and the player.
Ellevens’ roster currently consists of three FIFA players - Pedro “PResende97” Resende, Ethan “EthxnH” Higgins and Tyler “tyy” Phillips, and two online content creators – ItsHaber and NerdFire. The ownership has expressed intent on expanding into other esports and even you could put up your candidacy on Elleven’s official website if you think you’re good enough.
Ellevens' FIFA squad will get its first chance to impress the new star owner on February 7-9 at the FIFA 20 eClub World Cup.
