Hwei has just been released and players are already asking for a rework. He might not get one but he is already being buffed in LoL Patch 13.24.
The newest League of Legends champion, Hwei was just released in LoL Patch 13.24. He looks to be a pretty complicated champion who can do a little bit of everything, but it seems he was released on the weak side and Riot is going to try and boost his win rate a little with some buffs.
A hotfix was released on December 7, trying to help the champ, just a day after his initial release. So, what has Riot buffed?
LoL Patch 13.24: Hwei Hotfix Buffs Revealed
Leader Designer on League of Legends and the mind behind champions like Briar and Zeri, Riot August, revealed the changes that have gone live with the hotfix buffs for our new favorite emo-mid laner – step aside Vex.
Hwei has an abysmal win rate sitting at 31% with a 9% play rate in Emerald+ according to op.gg. Honestly, that is not the best start to a champion, with others like Akshan or Syndra also being some of the weaker champions when they were added.
Hwei is a very complex champion with 10-abilities, so his win rate will likely always be on the lower end, but it seems that Riot is not happy with him in his current state and have shipped some hotfix buffs.

These changes should help Hwei out a little and don't seem too over the top for a new champion who is going to take a while to master for players, though many are concerned that Riot is jumping the gun with these buffs, since he is so difficult to master and therefore is so low on the win rate spectrum.
Disabling him from ranked also doesn't seem like a decent option though, since a lot of players won't bother with normal games to practice or learn a champion, so disabling a champ from ranked for a week or two will just delay the initial slump in champion win rate.
So let's see how Hwei fares with these buffs and whether he'll get nerfed again in a few weeks.
