Two very promising sequels to genre-defining games are free to grab on the Epic Games Store. Here’s what they are all about and what you need to do to claim them!
The Epic Store is back with its weekly dose of free games, going for a double feature once again. This week we’ve got two sequels to games really shaped things up when they first came out. We’ve got the somewhat controversial Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs, and the pixel art eye candy Kingdom New Lands.
Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs
Amnesia: The Dark Descent hardly needs an introduction. Many of the top gaming content creators today, including PewDiePie, owe no small percentage of their growth to the first-person horror classic that got grown men to scream like little girls. This week, it’s long-anticipated continuation is made free to grab. Since this is a scary game, do yourself a favor and go in without watching any playthroughs. Get it here.
Kingdom New Lands
Feeling like playing something brighter and arguably prettier? The Epic Game’s got you covered, but make no mistake - this game is no less stressful! In the Kingdom series, it’s just you, the ruler of the kingdom, and your trusty horse. Explore the land, get some coins, and set up your defenses, because the monsters are coming to get you! It’s incredible how much depth and complexity is packed in this side-scrolling game where you do nothing but roam from left to right and back. If you haven’t played the previous Kingdom game, do yourself a favor and pick up this one. Get it here.
The games will be free until next Thursday. All you need to do is log into your Epic Games account and press the GET button. As always, once you claim them, you keep them forever, so even if you’re in the middle of playing something else, get them in your account and give them a try later. Happy gaming!
