League of Legends fans rejoice as professional play for the LCS Summer Split in North America returns on June 13. With MSI canceled, you better save the date and get ready for more action-packed LoL esports!

The 2020 League of Legends LCS will begin on June 13, 2020. The announcement was made by the LCS Official Twitter account:

League of Legends witnessed something spectacular as professional team Cloud9 only dropped one game in the entire 2020 LCS Spring Playoffs, ending the split with 17 wins and 1 loss. Cloud9 seem to be an unstoppable team for the upcoming tournament, but stranger things have happened. Cloud9 seem confident, even in their latest Tweet:

MSI canceled
The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic means that popular LoL event MSI was canceled, moving the LCS to the date of June 13.
In an official statement from LoL Esports, the mention of COVID-19 is ever prominent, so we could potentially expect online games for quite some time:
"We’ll continue to follow the local and state guidelines around COVID-19 to determine when it’s safe to return to the LCS Studios. If we’re unable to return to the LCS Studios for the start of the LCS Summer Split, we’ll continue to have the games take place online."
What time does it start?
Currently, the LCS games will be on the weekend with a new start time of 1:00 PM PT, with Monday hosting two LCS games that will start at 5:00 PM PT, so keep your respective timezone in consideration before tuning in.
Who to root for?
Cloud9's Spring Split massacre proves that North America steadily has more to prove to the world, but they're not the only team to keep your eye on for the Summer Split. Team SoloMidhad a very shaky start, but with Doublelift now returning to his former team, we're expecting some explosive impact, especially if Team Liquid and TSM play against each other.
