The king of the jungle will be hit again – but will that hurt Wukong's popularity? Everything about this and what else awaits us in the League of Legends Patch 10.9. Spoilers: The meta will be affected.

April 29 is a big day. The League of Legends Patch 10.9 is scheduled to go live – and it has already been announced that it will once again bring some nerfs and buffs into the Summoner's Rift. The LoL Patch 10.8 had already made some changes and showed some new champion possibilities, especially in the jungle.

Again, Riot Games is focusing on the jungle but some supports will be changed as well:

League of Legends Patch 10.9 notes

Riot Games finally realized that the King of Jungle is still far too strong. Let's wait and see if the nerfs here will change that. If anything, the monkey will soon be less present in your ranked games. The Karthus Nerf was also desperately needed. After all, he could do all his camps in what felt like minutes. But we disagree about Trundle: the champion hasn't been at the top of the meta for very long, so why nerf him? We're very much with Riot when it comes to the support changes, it was necessary to tame Bard and Nami, they virtually dominate the support meta. Here is a complete overview of the upcoming nerfs:

Jungle nerfs in LoL Patch 10.9

Karthus

  • Movement speed from 335 > 325

Trundle

  • R-Cooldown from 100-60 secs to 120-80 secs

Wukong

  • Armor from 34 to 31
  • Q damage from 30-130 to 20-120
  • W clone damage from 40-60% to 35-55%

Support nerfs in LoL Patch 10.9

Bard

  • Speed of movement (W) from 50% to 30%.
  • W-Cooldown from 12 sec. to 14 sec.
  • E-Cooldown from 18-14 sec. to 22-16 sec.

Nami

  • Base healing from 489.32 to 475
  • Mana base from 277.24 to 265
  • Passive movement speed from 60 to 45

Some of these changes will definitely cause a stir in the meta. Support players are going to see a more aggressive style of play this patch and less on the heal/team-orientated support that Nami and Bard give. However, it should be noted that there are only a few support nerfs here which leaves a large range of champions open to choose from.

FPX Skins in for LoL Patch 10.9 (unconfirmed)

Riot Games already unveiled the FPX Skins for Lee Sin, Vayne, Thresh, Malphite, and Gangplank. The five skins are in honor of FunPlus Phoenix's 3-0 victory over G2 Esports in the 2019 League of Legends World Championship.

In conclusion

It has not yet been officially confirmed that the FPX skins will come in patch 10.9. However, we can hope, after all, Riot Games said they would come "soon" – and that was a few days ago. There's still a week until April 29, enough time to familiarize yourself with the tier list of Patch 10.8 before the meta faces new challenges again.

Champions to keep your eye on for Patch 10.9 are Gnar, Quinn, and Kayne. What do you think of these changes? Keep it right here with EarlyGame as we dive deeper once the full patch notes are released.
