Volibear has made the League of Legends community excited once again as his thunderous rework was revealed over the weekend. With new skins, abilities, and an exclusive mode featuring the gigantic bear on Howling Abyss, how do you build Volibear?
How to build Volibear
Volibear used to be about farming up minions and running at your enemies, well, like a bear, as you feared and shockingly sizzled them to cinders. This brand new bear, however, is an absolute menace with incredible utility and dive potential, and therefore should be built like an absolute menace.
Currently, this is how your end game build should look like for the Jungle position:
- Mercury's Treads
- Stalker's Blade - Cinderhulk
- Righteous Glory
- Thornmail
- Spirit Visage
- Wit's End
Health, magic resistance, damage, speed, and damage reflection are what you'll need for this Volibear rework. This keeps the thematics of how Volibear as per usual while also offering him some extra utility with Righteous Glory, as you speed around the jungle zapping champions left, right and center.

Wit's End means you'll make minced meat of your enemies when you pair this with his new Q, Thundering Smash, which allows Volibear to break bear Velicity and hurtle towards a champion, smashing them into a stun.
One trick would be to ensure you have his brand new E, Sky Splitter cast just ahead of using your Q, so you're almost guaranteed to either stun or slow your enemies before their inevitable demise. One tip would be to ensure you're diving enemies! This new ultimate, Stormbringer, not only slows and damages enemies beneath him but also gives Volibear bonus health! You should be abusing this as much as you can.
Keeping his core identity in mind, Volibear should be the tanky bear he always has been but looking a lot more menacing now while he dives you under your tower. Naturally, there will be some tweaking of Volibear's abilities and skills as he'll hit the PBE quite soon.
