The new League of Legends ranked season has begun and it was set off by another epic cinematic.

By now, League of Legendsdeveloper Riot Games is almost as famous for releasing high-quality music videos based on the game as for the game itself. In 2019, “Awaken” was a suitably impressive video for the start of the ranked season that took the community by storm. Many fans were hyped to see what would follow and they were not disappointed. The ranked season couldn't have gotten a better start.

The League of Legends Warriors Cinematic

Just prior to the release of the 10.1 patch, marking the start of the season, Riot released a new video called “Warriors”. Check it out and get ready for goosebumps:

The video follows a pattern we have seen before. It changes between several epic action scenes, showcasing champions from League of Legends. Vi, Caitlyn, Ezreal, Galio and others make an appearance in epic fights. The action is intense, and while the video is just under three and a half minutes, it delivers everything right.

Several of the scenes also refer to the League of Legends lore, such as when Lux and Garen led the defense of a fort against Sylas’ army. The action builds upon the conflict between the three in the Lux comic. Interestingly, while the song features 2WEI and Edda Hayes, it is a cover of Imagine Dragons’ Warriors. If you recall, this was the theme song of the Season 4 League of Legends World Championship. While the tone of the melody is different, older fans may appreciate the throwback. The video is already featured in promotional materials for China’s League of Legends Pro League (LPL) as it kicked off on January 13.

Arcane LoL Animated Show Coming in 2020

If “Warriors” left you wanting for more, don’t despair – Riot Games’ own animated TV series called “Arcane” is expected later this year. Riot unveiled the project late last year during the 10th anniversary and it promises to explore the universe and the origins of several characters further.

Considering the standards Riot has set when it comes to video quality, the series should definitely be worth watching!
