Within their 10th anniversary video, Riot Games mentioned League of Legends would be expanding, but we didn't expect it this quickly! Like EarlyGame, those with a nose for news would have spotted that the pre-registration has officially opened for LoL Wild Rift, with a beta expected very soon.
Wild Rift is not just a port of the PC game
We had to get it right. We needed to figure out how to bring a true League experience to other platforms in a way that's worthy of your love, your time, your investment" - Michael Chow (Riot Paladin)
Summoner's Rift won't be the same, though. With some tweaks and changes to optimize the App for mobile devices, for example, match times will be significantly lower than the usual game for League of Legends which sometimes reach well over an hour.
Do not expect all League of Legends champions to arrive with Wild Rift. This is something Riot Games themselves have mentioned in the past, but this game was built from the ground up with mobile in mind, even down changing the numbers to ensure some stability. Expect other champions to arrive in patches much like the PC version of LoL, with mobile patch notes on the official Riot Games website.
How do I register?
Simply head on over to the Google Play Store and sign up for the League of Legends Wild Rift pre-registration to be contacted for a chance at being in the Beta, which is expected very soon (You can sign up here).
For everything else League of Legends, keep it here with EarlyGame.
