Yesterday Riot Games gave some insight into the upcoming changes which will be made to the Rift. They are especially targeting items. We’ve talked about the changes which will come to the jungle, as well as a look at the new mythic items. But now Riot has revealed their big plan.
The new item overhaul has already gone live on PBE and will be tested in the coming 6 weeks until the item changes go live in November. Things such as effect names, visual- and sound- effects might still be changed until then.
Riot has made an in-depth post on their website explaining the changes, but we’ve summarized some of them for you right here if you just want to get the gist of it all without all the nitty-gritty details.
Preseason PBE is today - before it drops we have a (quite long) article about all of the significant mythic and legendary item changes. I'll be breaking down the major changes and our thoughts by class.https://t.co/vLojieoEvc

Unfortunately, not all items can make the cut into the next season and some of our favorites will have to join Quill Coat and Spellbreaker in Riots’ item graveyard. These items will be replaced by new ones, or by adjusting still existing items to better fit onto the current Summoner’s Rift.
In the next few weeks, developers will work closely with players to monitor the changes which will come to the Rift so that everyone can have a good experience once these changes go live for all players.
