Careful eyes will spot the following message in the image.
"Note: We're tightening our thresholds in pro to get a more diverse meta for summer playoffs and worlds"
It seems like Riot Games might be afraid of a stale viewership for summer playoffs and worlds, as we all know, a stale meta in professional play is not fun to watch as a viewer. Target nerfs for pro players are:
- Ornn
- Lee Sin
- Twisted Fate
- Fiddlesticks
- Thresh
- Aphelios
If you've been watching NALCS or LEC, you'll notice these offending champions played frequently. It's these champions who are a must-pick and are now specific target nerfs to pro-players to shake things up within Summoner's Rift.
The change is a welcome one, especially for professional play. We hope to see more exciting picks within the NALCS and LEC. Speaking of, we have a Top 5 plays on those regions, which include these champions, so be sure to check it out!
Adiós Aphelios!
It seems we can't go a few patches without the Weapon of the Faithful being changed by Riot Games yet again. We've mentioned this time and time again, but Aphelios is incredibly hard to balance, and it seems Riot Games are still struggling with these intended changes to his kit.
The additional intended changes to his kit are welcome, especially in pro play. We see Aphelios in the bottom lane of Summoner's Rift in NALCS & LEC quite often, so this change should dissuade players from picking him, but only time will tell when LoL Patch 10.15 arrives.

The remaining offenders see nerfs to their kits due to the high pick-rates, so no surprises there. We would have liked to have seen Blitzcrank on the nerf list, but that could be for another patch altogether.
Fans are in disarray in the Yuumi buffs, and AP Gragas buffs, but that's no surprise to anyone.

What will be interesting will be how patches progress in the run-up towards summer playoffs and Worlds 2020. With the inclusion of nerfs coming because of professional players, will future patches shape more around pro players? For now, you can expect LoL Patch 10.15 to arrive Wednesday 22 July 2020.
