Which Support Picks Are Strong in LoL Patch 11.1?

5. Seraphine (Win Rate: 52.4%)

Seraphine is a mid lane mage? That’s what Riot likes to think. Seraphine has found a home in the bot lane and has become a very good support. She is rather squishy, so players need to be careful, but the good outweighs the bad in her case. Her W is her main support ability, able to shield and give movement speed to her allies, and she also has a stun/slow in her kit with her E. She is a great pickup when you need a safe support with decent range.

4. Lulu (Win Rate: 50.3%)

Lulu is one of those support picks that just doesn’t seem to go out of style… even though we’re on season 11 already, and she was one of the top picks all throughout season 10. What is it that makes her so strong? Well, she is a lane pushing support who can bully opponents to give your ADC plenty of opportunities to get first blood. Her abilities shield her ADC and in team fights she is able to support the frontline by Ulting them, making everybody almost unkillable.

3. Thresh (Win Rate: 50.3%)

Thresh is the champion who will let any ADC play aggressively without having to worry. His lantern is always a solid way out of a sticky situation, which will give your lane the opportunity to pressure since Thresh is there to back his ADC up. Thresh also has a hook that can be used to reign in enemies, giving your ADC ample opportunity to get in some damage or even a kill. Overall, Thresh is a great pick with slows in his kit, while also having enough disengage tools for your ADC to feel safe throughout the game.

2. Leona (Win Rate: 51.2%)

Leona has been top tier for forever now. She is an amazing support, especially if you’re looking to play a less squishy champion. She has lots of crowd control in her kit and can easily engage onto the opponents and stun them, especially in the early game when opponents haven’t built any items yet. One E + W combo and they’re dead.

Her late game is also nothing to scoff at. She is the ultimate engage tool to a teamfight thanks to her E. She can also stun and slow groups with her ultimate which will give her ADC free fire onto enemy champions bunched up in a group.

1. Maokai (Win Rate: 54.4%)

The undisputed champion of support this patch has to be Maokai. His win rate is above that of any other support champion and he has become one of the most played support champions over the last few weeks. He has great cc in his kit and he can lay down damage thanks to his saplings – and frustrate opponents with ease.

It is important to note that support Maokai won’t be as tanky as top lane Maokai, which is something players should be aware of. He is still a tank support who can eat quite a bit of damage though, especially in comparison to some of the other squishy support champions we’ve listed above. So go out there, build Imperial Mandate and annoy the opponents, while peeling for your team or engaging on the enemy bot lane.
