According to soures, C9 is looking to buyout Perkz who wants to play in Europe again. How much of this is true?
Cloud9 is looking to buyout Perkz at the end of the Season – at least according to sources from Dotesports. Apparently, the star mid laner wants to return to Europe for the upcoming season to build a team there from the ground up.
This comes just one year after C9 bought out the mid laner from G2 and signed him to a 3-year, multi-million dollar deal. Now, not even a year later, it seems like the rest of his contract will be sold off to another team in Europe.
One of the main justifications for the change is due to family reasons. Luka “Perkz” Perković is from Croatia and will want to be closer to his home in the coming season.
- Perkz isn't the only player making changes in the off-season. Bjergsen is also going to be leaving TSM.
According to Dotesports, he told the team and management of his intention to leave C9 and move back to Europe ahead of their quarterfinal match against Gen.G.
What Did Perkz Achieve With C9?
During his tenure as Cloud9’s mid laner, he helped the team to a first-place finish at the 2021 Mid Season Showdown, as well as a berth at the 2021 Mid-Season Invitational in Iceland.
The team did not finish in the top 2 of the Summer, but did manage to make it to Worlds where they made it out of a ‘group of death’, impressing NA and European fans alike.
Whether Perkz will be bought out is not yet confirmed by C9 management, so we will have to wait until November to find out more details regarding Perkz’ future in esports. Will he be back in Europe in 2022?
He did tweet out this on October 29, 2021, but he is known to troll, so this has no meaning other than to stir up the community – having good fun with the buyout rumors.
