Maybe you’ve been around since Season 1 of League of Legends and created your account when you were a horny 12-year-old, who got way too much love from his momma. If I’m correct, then your name is probably cringe. Don’t worry though, today, we’ll show you how to change your summoner name in League of Legends.
For whatever reason, you want to change your summoner name in League of Legends: it’s okay. You were 12, you were cringy and probably secretly liked to listen to Miley Cyrus’ Party in the USA, I get it. We were all there… kinda. But now, you’re grown up and “MommiesBaby2014” isn’t the coolest username anymore.
- Vex would disapprove of your username, I just know it.
Alternatively, you maybe want to join a clan and want to display the clan tag in your username? Then you can do it this way too. If you want to join a clan, but don’t have one yet, why don’t you become a part of the EarlyGame clan and find like-minded people to play LoL with? Not all the members are Iron IV, promise.
Changing your name in League of Legends is actually fairly easy, but as always with our favorite love-to-hate-game, you either save up Blue Essence, or you pay real money.
How To Change Your Name in LoL
- Log into your LoL client
- Once the client is open, click on the Store icon
- Right under your Blue Essence, you will see an icon that says account, next to the Gifting Center. Click on that.
- Here, you will have the option: Summoner Name Change
As you can see, you can either pay with real money or Blue Essence, if you have enough (though keep in mind that that'll cost you a LOT of Blue Essence). Once you’ve paid either RP or Blue Essence for it, your client will restart, and you can log in again. Keep in mind that you will have to log in with your original username, though. The name that will be displayed in LoL, for yourself and your friends, is your new username, however.
No more CallMeDaddy007. You’re cooler than that now… I hope.
