The North American League of Legends Championship, the LCS, has a new look and logo in 2021. Out is the clunky old LCS logo and in with a new sleeker design, which has been memed by the whole community already.

This season the LCS wants to reinvent themselves to try to get up their viewership numbers which have been dwindling over the last year. Over the course of 2020, the most viewed League of Legends region was the LCK, followed by Europe’s LEC.

The new logo of the LCS wasn’t the only thing that was announced this week regarding the North American League of Legends, though. The on-air talent and voices which will bring the LCS closer to fans have also been announced over Twitter.

In 2021, fans will get to see the usual faces, such as Phreak, Kobe, Azael, and of course Captain Flowers, along with some other well-known personalities who have been part of the LCS stream in the previous year, such as LeTigress, Dash and Crumbz.

The announcement of Emily Rand was the highlight of the release. She is a well-known journalist who previously worked for ESPN. She has great analytical skills and will be a key asset for the upcoming 2021 LCS broadcast. She’s even warned on Twitter that she will make as many LPL references as possible since she is an avid fan of the region.

Another huge pick up for the 2021 season is Raz, former LPL caster and head coach of the Golden Guardians Academy team. In an interview with Travis Gafford, Raz joked that he would compete with Kobe to cast alongside Captain Flowers in the 2021 season.

Since the disbandment of the OPL, many Australian casters had to find new homes. One of those casters will be Spawn, who will be splitting his time as the new coach of Team Liquid Academy as well as the broadcast for the LCS.

The 2021 season is set to start on January 15, with a pre-season tournament ‘Lock In’ which is akin to the Demacia Cup or the KeSpa Cup played in China and Korea, which will give fans a little taste of what is to come, and for teams to iron out their final roster moves.
