Dota: Dragon Blood, the animated DOTA 2 Series is currently running on Netflix, but there is another large MOBA that has a show in the works... That's right a League of Legends animated series by the name of Arcane is in the works.
In October 2019, for the 10-year-anniversary, Riot announced that an animated series based on the League of Legends lore will be coming our way. Originally it was supposed to air in 2020, but the release date was pushed back to 2021.

What is the Riot Show All About?
Arcane is going to be about characters from Piltover and Zaun, specifically Vi and Jinx. We won't see them as the legendary champions from Summoner's Rift, but rather as young children trying to survive in a cruel world. We even catch a glimpse of Caitlyn and her parents in a family portrait in the trailer.
The man with the comically large cylinder hat could be Warwick. His lore states that he has a prosthetic on his right arm which had been created by Singed. And well... Singed himself could also be the scientist seen at around the 1:13 minute mark in the trailer.
When Will the League of Legends Show be Released?
As mentioned above, the show was supposed to come out in 2020, but due to our good friend COVID-19, these plans sadly had to be pushed back. The news of the delay were announced 9 months ago and since then much has happened in the world.

The pandemic hasn't really disappeared and if the animation should get pushed back once more, then we should hear about it within the coming 2-3 months. Also, the production company of the LoL animation, Fortiche Productions, is looking for new hires.
But what does this mean? Are we getting the show this year? Well one thing we know for sure, we'd rather have them take their time to make a high quality animation, rather than force the issue to bring the show out as quickly as possible.

Where Will We be Able to Watch the Show?
According to Jarred Kenedy, who had been the Global Head of Entertainment Businesses and Partnerships at Riot Games, the animation had been financed completely by Riot, which means that for now there doesn't seem to be any exclusive rights for any streaming platforms.
But who knows, maybe the show is going to be made available in the League of Legends client or on their YouTube channel. Or they go the same route that Dota: Dragon's Blood went with and make it exclusive for Netflix – or any other streaming site. Anything is possible.
