Who is Akali According to LoL Lore?
Akali was an acolyte of the Kinkou Order in Ionia. She grew up within the order, her parents both important leaders. The other acolytes took care of her when her parents were away. She soaked in any knowledge she could gain.
It was obvious that she would follow in her parents’ footsteps and become an important part of the future of the Kinkou Order, alongside the appointed successor, Shen.

The balance wasn’t meant to be though, when Zed, a wayward acolyte overthrew the Kinkou Order and created the Shadow Order in its stead. Shen, Akali and a few others of the Kinkou Order managed to escape, hiding and building up their forces once more to try and regain their home and bring balance between the spiritual and material realm once more.
In the years that followed, Akali became an adept fighter, and she overtook her mother's spot as the Fist of Shadow. She was a restless soul who wanted to go out and protect what was important to her, but Shen, the new leader of the new Kinkou order, preached patience, taking both the material and spiritual realm into consideration.

Akali did not agree with this philosophy, for she saw people dying and hurt in war. She felt it was her need to help and protect the Ionians who were dying in the physical realm – the realm she felt she needed to protect. Before the whole Kinkou Order, she made her declaration and swiftly left.
Shen did not stop her, for this was Akali’s path to take. She had to find her way, and maybe she would make her way back to the Kinkou Order in due time…

There are three main roles that are part of the Kinkou Order, the Fist of Shadow, who eliminated those who threaten the balance. The Heart of Tempest has to convey the justice of the Kinkou and the Eye of Twilight who is forced to apply judgment, untainted by prejudice. These roles are handed down to these Champions:
- Fist of Shadow: Akali
- Heart of Tempest: Kennen
- Eye of Twilight: Shen
Are there more Champions from the Kinkou Order in LoL Lore?
Yes, there are. One of the key players in the Kinkou Order demise is Zed, a former acolyte who, after hunting Jhin for four long years, lost a part of himself and turned to the shadows for power. He is a key player in Shen’s lore as the two had been as close as brothers before.

Will More Champions from the Kinkou Order be Released?
There is the possibility of other Characters from the Kinkou Order to be made into Champions in League of Legends. There are multiple acolytes who survived the attack of Zed on the order and fled alongside Shen. Characters like the Keeper of Masks who is a member of the Order tasked with initiating new acolytes into the order.
There are many possibilities to gain more champions from the Kinkou Order but alas, we have to be patient and wait for the balance to be restored, so we can see the truth.
