Who is Blitzcrank According to LoL Lore?

Blitzcrank was once a golem built to clean up the toxic streets of Zaun. While working with the chemicals, he became defective and was thrown away to rot and die. That was until the inventor Viktor found him.

Viktor took the golem in and rebuilt him, replacing old parts with new ones and adding in one final piece of technology to improve and automate the golem – Hextech. Hextech is the mineral that fuels Pilotver and Zaun, a crystal retrieved by killing thousands in Shurima.

With his new Hextech core, the golem became the most efficient machine in Zaun. Viktor named him Blitzcrank. Blitzcrank worked hard and Viktor realized that the machine was learning, thus improving with every job.

Blitzcrank was on the cusp of self-awareness and began to interact more and more with Zaunties. Viktor tried to replicate his success with other golems but failed over and over again, unable to recreate a second Blitzcrank.

Blitzcrank worked tirelessly, continuing to clean the streets of Zaun of toxic waste upon Viktors command. Nuance and moderation were not concepts the golem understood. This is why when he'd been told to clean a certain part of Zaun, the best option would be to get rid of the source of the toxic waste – the factory.

Thus, Blitzcrank sought out the source of the waste and decided to destroy the factory which was producing the dirt which marred the streets of Zaun. The chem-baron was enraged and sought out Viktor, demanding Blitzcrank to be destroyed.

Viktor had grown fond of the machine though, seeing them as a living being almost, and wanted to smuggle the machine to safety, but when he got back to his home, Blitzcrank was already gone.

Blitzcrank had grown into a self-sufficient being, continuing to evolve and learn. Therefore, he left, following his own missions, rather than listen to his creator. Now, only rumors remain of the golem. It upgrades on its own and labors tirelessly to protect Zaun.

Did Viktor Build Blitzcrank According to LoL Lore?

Viktor found Blitzcrank as a broken machine and improved him rather than build him from scratch. According to Blitzcrank’s champion lore, there are many golems roaming Zaun who are tasked with cleaning up the city. When they were broken and deemed useless, they were thrown away.

Viktor was the one who found Blitzcrank and added the Hextech crystal into its core, which is how Blitzcrank is able to continuously learn and evolve throughout their lifetime.

Is Blitzcrank a Girl or a Boy According to LoL Lore?

Blitzcrank is neither boy nor girl, but a machine. Throughout their champion lore, they are referred to as ‘they’, so genderless. Their programmed voice does sound male and Blitzcrank is a male-sounding name, but they do not have a specified gender.

What Region is Blitzcrank from According to LoL Lore?

Blitzcrank is a machine from Zaun. Zaun is the underground of Piltover, where people thrive, even though the city itself is a dark mirror of Piltover. There are many other champions from Zaun like Warwick, Viktor and Singed.

Many inventors have made their way to Zaun from Piltover since according to League of Legends lore, there are too many restrictions in the upper city. In Zaun, they can test out and invent machines and monsters without having to worry about being constrained.
