Who is Braum According to LoL Lore?
Braum is from a proud line of herders in the Freljord. Even as a child, he was bigger than most and was taught by his mother not to intimidate and frighten others, but to use his strength to protect them.
When he was a small boy, a neighboring tribe that had been preying on their herds for years was attacked by ice giants. Braum’s mother did not hesitate to rush in and the aid of the tribe, helping care for the survivors. Braum didn’t understand why his mother was helping their rivals, but after she helped save many of the tribes people, a lifelong alliance had been built.
- Braum is a great support in-game, especially when pairing him with champions like Ashe – who is also from the Freljord – and Jinx – who isn't from the Freljord, but from Zaun like Blitzcrank!
From that day on, Braum saw all Freljordians as his brothers and sisters and wished to unite all the tribes.
As he grew up, it became clear that he was an Iceborn. Even amongst Iceborn, he could endure the elements better than most. He used his strength and power to protect others, becoming a local hero who would aid anyone in need. With time, he realized he had to part ways with his homeland and travel the Freljord to help all Freljordian clans.
- Will Braum be played at the 2021 League of Legends World Championship?
As he traveled, tales of his mighty feats and good deeds spread. The tales became more and more eccentric – one spinning the story of how he chopped down a forest in a single night, using only his bare hands.
A more recent tale spoke of how he gained his giant ram-headed shield. According to the lore, he was in the mountains when he heard a cry for help behind a magical vault door. He couldn’t break the door open, so he punched his way through bare rock to save the small troll boy. In the end, he ripped the door from its hinges and has used it as a shield since.
- Check out this week's skin sales, maybe there is a cool Braum one there too? Or just see if he is free to play, if you don't own him already.
Braum doesn’t refute any of these tales, enjoying the hope and generosity they spread within the Freljord.
Braum was a wanderer of the Freljord, not belonging to a single clan, for he believed everyone in the Freljord to be united one day. This is why he made his way to Rakelstake, where Ashe resided.
Once there, Braum witnessed the barbarian Tryndamere fight to prove his worth. As he continued to brawl, he began to lose himself within his rage, ready to kill the fallen soldier. Braum launched himself between Tryndamere and his fallen opponent, shielding the passed out from Tryndamere’s rage.
- Braum loves poro's but there are so many other cute characters in League of Legends.
Once Tryndamere calmed down, he was won over by Braum’s cheerful attitude, and the duo began to drink the night away. Some even say that he was the one to introduce Tryndamere to Ashe.
Now, Braum resides with the Avarosian, though he still does not belong to any tribe in particular, continuing to tell tales of how one day the Freljord would be united again – and once that day comes, he can retire and become a poro herder.
What is Braum’s Shield According to LoL Lore?
Braum’s shield was once a door to the hidden treasure of the troll, Grubgrack the Hideous. It is said that the door was forged by Ornn and cursed, so that the troll would never be able to reach his treasure again.
According to Braum’s lore, he rescued a trapped troll boy who had stumbled upon the door and treasure and was trapped behind it. Braum came to rescue the child, but wasn’t able to break open the door, so he chose to break through the rock instead to save him.
- Ever wondered what someone means when they talk about League of Legends seasons? And which eras SKT dominated professional LoL?
After the rescue, Braum was able to take the door with him – since the whole mountain collapsed, leaving the door. Looking at the shield as well, signs point to Ornn being the maker since it has a ram’s head on the front. Coincidence? We think not!
What is an Iceborn according to LoL Lore?
Iceborn is an alteration to creatures living in the Freljord. Those who are Iceborn, are able to resist the cold and elements far easier, and they have the ability to wield true ice and dark ice according to League of Legends lore.
It is stated in various champion lores, that the Iceborn come from Lissandra through an ancient and terrible bargain to gain more power. Since then, only a few are born with the power of the Iceborn.
