After a long three-week break, we’re finally getting a new League of Legends patch. A lot has happened in this patch, with two small reworks and some of the highest performing champions finally getting nerfed. Today, we will be going over the highlights of LoL Patch 11.16.

If you’re looking for all the details, don’t worry, we also have all buffs and nerfs of LoL Patch 11.16 written down, as well as details regarding the Karma rework and the Sona rework. For all patch information, EarlyGame has got you covered.

Tahm Kench Nerfed in LoL Patch 11.16

Yes, you read that right. Tahm Kench, the river king and most annoying top laner just got hit with a nerf – thank you! His top lane prowess was just too strong, and he even overtook the pro-play meta.

In LoL Patch 11.16, Riot decided to nerf his passive base damage. Also, the base heal of his Q was lowered. This was done to weaken his early game, where most of his strength came from. Seriously, his damage and sustain was insane, and he could even survive a 2v1. Were those nerfs enough, though? Let us know on Facebook!

Maokai Buffs Make Him Return To the Top Lane in LoL Patch 11.16

Maokai has been a popular support pick over the last few months. His saplings are able to poke out opponents in lane and give his ADC a chance to move up and get kills. Not to mention, his ultimate is a great engage tool. But Riot has other ideas for the giant tree and wants to shift him back up top.

To do so, they’ve fixed a bug in his passive healing, as well as buffed his passive. So in LoL Patch 11.16 he will heal correctly and even more than before, giving him decent sustain in lane. Unfortunately, his E had to be nerfed a little, since that’s where his support power came from.

Karma Rework Benefits Support Karma in LoL Patch 11.16

We’ve talked about the Karma rework already in detail, but let’s go over it one more time. The changes made to her kit in LoL Patch 11.16 will greatly benefit anyone wanting to play her as a support. Her shield got better and bigger, while the movement speed has been reduced.

Her Q was also changed in this patch to deal less damage, but the mana cost was reduced. This won’t be too big of a deal for support Karma, though, since she mostly uses her Q to poke out opponents in lane, while her ADC does all the work.

Sona Rework Gives her a New Passive in LoL Patch 11.16

Riot explained that her old passive with mana refund was no fun for the champion, hence, why they decided to give her a new passive that stacks. Basically, she gains stacks by using her abilities. These stacks give her non-ultimate ability haste, so she can spam her abilities even more to gain stacks!

Once she reaches 60 non-ultimate ability haste, her ultimate ability's current cooldown reduces by 1.5 seconds each time she would gain an Accelerando stack. We’re excited to see how this one plays out on the Rift.

What Skins Are Released in LoL Patch 11.16?

In this LoL Patch, we’re getting some more Coven skins (and two Old God Skins, but those are also part of Coven). A total of six new skins in the coven line will be available in the League of Legends store in the coming days. One Champion will also get a prestige version of a Coven skin.

Which Champions Are Getting Skins in LoL Patch 11.16?

The following champions will get new skins in LoL Patch 11.16:

  • Ashe
  • Evelynn (Legendary)
  • Ahri
  • Cassiopeia
  • Warwick
  • Malphite
  • LeBlanc (Prestige)

Ashe, Evelynn, Ahri and Cassiopeia will be donning these haute-couture fashion skins, while Warwick and Malphite get Old God skins.

LeBlanc is also on the receiving end of a skin, getting a Prestige Edition Coven skin from her old Coven look. The gold and white looks cool, but does it really fit into the dark Coven aesthetic?
