Sona Changes Are Coming With LoL Patch 11.16
You may remember the time when Sona suddenly moved from bot lane to top lane and got picked in pro play as well. Riot certainly does and has always been concerned about what to do with the musician. At the time, the response was swift, her passives and damage were adjusted, and she received some nerfs. However, as a result, she was also useless as a support and Yuumi was the much stronger version. Then came Seraphine, who was also Sona in a way - only in good. And so it happened that it became very quiet around her beats and sounds for a while.
Captain Gameplay has now commented on the current situation in the official League of Legends forum. In the Quick Gameplay Thoughts, he explained that Sona is now on the right track. Her skills and passive have been adjusted so that she is dependent on the duo lane and scales solidly over the course of the game. In addition, Riot wants to continue to allow you to play Sona both ways. Either as a healbot, or as a strong support with lots of poke.
However, since the changes are not yet final and still need some fine-tuning, the Sona rework will only go live with patch 11.16.
Will The New Champion Vex Come In LoL Patch 11.16?
Since Akshan just saw the light of day in the Rift's world, such an early release of Vex is rather unlikely. So far, it has never happened that Riot has released two champions within two weeks. Until we know what exactly the Yordle Mage can do and what she looks like in the game, we'll have to be patient. We expect Vex to release with LoL patch 11.17.
