If there is a debate about the greatest player to ever grace the League of Legends EMEA Championship stage, there is no way around Caps. After another strong showing from his team G2 Esports, the danish pro has now claimed a milestone only matched by the one and only Faker.
This is Caps' world, and we're just living in it! After another strong display, G2 Esports have claimed another LEC title at the 2023 Season Finals. For the eighth time with the organization, mid laner Rasmus 'Caps' Winther has crowned himself as the king of the LEC. Combined with his two championships at Fnatic in 2018, this now sees him stand at ten domestic titles.

After two dominant splits in winter and summer, G2 Esports went to the season finals as the clear favorites. Not all went perfect in their matches, but three successive 3-1s against Team BDS, MAD Lions and Fnatic proved they still are a cut above the rest.
Caps Now Ties Faker In Domestic Titles
With his tenth LEC title coming his way at the season finals, Caps now matches the number of domestic titles Korean superstar Lee 'Faker' Sang-hyeok has to his disposal. No player other than these two can claim to have ten titles in a major region!
The only record that separates Caps from Faker is the international track record. While Caps is among the only two European squads that have won an international tournament thanks to his 2019 Mid-Season Invitational win, Faker is still clear with two MSI titles and three World Championships.
With both players still going strong, it will be interesting to see who can claim more titles once they retire. However, it definitely seems that both players still have multiple more seasons ahead of them: Faker has only at the start of the year extended his player contract with T1 until the end of 2025, while Caps is bound to G2 for the same time.
Even though nobody is surprised anymore what these two giants can do for their respective teams, they are still two of the most hyped players internationally. The last time Faker and Caps faced each other at the 2022 MSI, Faker managed to win the game – but with the highly anticipated 2023 World Championship just around the corner, Caps will be looking to take revenge...
