The Mid-Season Invitational concluded not too long ago with Royal Never Give Up raising the MSI trophy for the second time within three years. Now it's the off-season with teams making final adjustments before the Summer Split.
The Summer Split is the last frontier before the 2021 League of Legends World Championship. Teams have their final chances to wrack up points to make it to China for the biggest esports event of the year. When will the Summer Split start though?

When will the LEC Summer Split Start?

The LEC Summer Split is set to kick off on the 11th of June. The Split will be played, as before, on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, creating a viewing experience each weekend for fans to enjoy. This split will be especially interesting.
During the Spring Split, G2 and Fnatic didn’t even make it to the LEC Playoff finals, something which is practically unheard of in the LEC. So get ready for an action-packed Summer Split where G2 and Fnatic will try to regain their stride.

When will the LCS Summer Split Start?
The LCS is going to continue their action on June 5th with Dignitas facing off against FlyQuest in the opening match of the summer season in the NA region.

The LCS changed its format at the beginning of the 2021 League of Legends season. Instead of having two splits, they will now have one continuous split to find the LCS champion with a small mid-season tournament to decide who goes to MSI.

When will the LPL Summer Split Start?

The LPL is going to start on June 7th. The first game of the LPL is already going to be a big one with Invictus Gaming, the 2018 World Champions facing off against the runner-ups of the 2020 World Championship – Suning.

When will the LCK Summer Split Start?
The LCK Summer Split is set to kick off on June 9th. Fredit BRION is going to take on Liiv Sandbox in the opening match of the LCK.

It was also announced that the Summer Split will open its doors to fans. The LCK was the only region not to play their Spring Final in a LAN setting, but that will change with the Summer Split. LoL Park in Seoul is opening its doors to fans for the action.

What Are Teams Playing For in the Summer Split?
The Summer Split is the final test before the 2021 League of Legends World Championship. Due to strong performances throughout Spring as well as at the Mid-Season Invitational, both the LCK and LPL are going to be able to send 4 teams to the upcoming 2021 LoL Worlds.
The 2021 LoL World Championship is set to start at the beginning of October or the end of September, with a play-in phase like in previous years. The final is going to be held in Shenzhen at the Universiade Sports Centre Stadium on November 6th.
