More LoLesports content:

Where will the 2021 World Championship be held?

The event and the final of the 2021 World Championship will be held in Iceland. Fans will not be allowed in attendance, making this the third consecutive 'bubble' LAN event.

Originally the event was supposed to take place in China, but it has been confirmed that Worlds 2021 was moved to Europe due to Visa issues for staff and organizations.

Where will the Finals of the 2021 World Championship be held?

The final of the 2021 World Championship will be held at Laugardalshöll Indoor Sporting Arena. The whole event will be taking place at the arena, just like the 2021 Mid-Season Invitational.

Which Patch is the Worlds 2021 Patch?

Riot has now announced that the next patches, Patch 11.17 and Patch 11.18, are primarily pro-focused tuning wise. At the same time, Patch 11.19 was announced as the Worlds 2021 Patch. So the championship of the year will be played on LoL Patch 11.19.

When Will The 2021 World Championship Take Place?

The 2021 League of Legends World Championship will start on October 5, 2021. The finals will be held on November 6, 2021. So the tournament will be over the span of a month, once more like in previous years.

Where will the 2022 LoL World Championship take place?

Skt win worlds 2016
It's been 5 years since SKT won their last World Championship... crazy. (Credit: Riot Games)

We already know the country where the 2022 Worlds will take place. Actually, the 2021 LoL Worlds were planned as a trip through China, but visas, the pandemic and stricter entry regulations put a spoke in Riot's wheel. That's why the Worlds will take place in Europe again this year.

Vietnam canceled their Summer Season, so we probably won't see a VCS team at Worlds. Vietnam has not been able to participate in the Worlds for 2 years in a row due to the government's harsh Covid-19 rules. The VCS plans to make up for the Summer Season in Q4 2021, but it will probably be held online.

The 2022 World Championship will be held in North America. Which cities are yet to be determined, but we do have some ideas for cool locations that are totally not biased – please include Toronto or Vancouver.

The last World Championship to be played on North American soil, was the 2016 Worlds, where SKT T1 managed to win a nail-biter against Samsung Galaxy for their third World Championship title.

Maybe we get to witness some T1 dominance on NA soil once more. Faker is undefeated when he plays at Worlds in North America.
