Will VCS Teams attend the 2021 World Championship?
According to some rumours and speculation, the Vietnamese representatives will not be attending the 2021 World Championship due to Visa issues. This will be the third international tournament which the VCS representatives will miss. The last time we saw a VCS team internationally was at the 2019 World Championship in Europe.
What Format Will the 2021 LoL World Championship Have?
As usual, the format will include a play-in stage before the beginning of the group stage. 12 teams will compete in the play-in stage. The final spots of the LCK, LPL, LEC, PCS, VCS and LCS, as well as the teams competing from the other minor regions.

Once the play-in stage is finished, teams will then move onto the group stages. 16 teams will have to battle it out to make it to the knock-out rounds.
How Riot decides to deal with the loss of the two VCS teams has not yet been disclosed.
Where Will the 2021 LoL World Championship Take Place?
The 2021 World Championship will once again be held in Europe. Originally, the event was supposed to take place in China with a city tour and the final taking place in Shenzhen at the Universiade Stadium.
Due to the circumstances, the event had to be moved, since many teams and staff were unable to get Visa's to enter China. Therefore the 2021 World Championship will take place in Iceland instead.
The 2021 Mid-Season Invitational already took place in Iceland and was a huge success, which makes this location a no-brainer for the biggest esports event of the year.
Sadly, fans will not be able to attend the event. It will once again be played in a bubble format like the 2020 World Championship and the aforementioned 2021 Mid-Season Invitational.
When Will the 2021 LoL World Championship Take Place?
The Worlds begin on the 5th of October. One month later, on the 6th of November, the finals will take place. Which teams will make it in the end and where exactly the matches will be played from the quarter finals on remains to be seen. Only one thing is for sure - sorry G2 fans, your team is not in it.
