LoL Worlds Qualifying Series: The Format & The Participating Teams
As stated above, it will be the first time that this Qualifying Series for the 2023 Worlds Play-In Stage is going to happen. And the format of this process is not that hard to describe. A single best-of 5 Series between the representatives of the North American LCS and the European LEC will decide their fate.
For a couple of weeks now, we know that the Golden Guardians are going to Korea to fight the LEC representative. Their opponent will be the 4th placed team of the LEC. Since the LEC Season Finals are nearing their conclusion, we know that GG has to go up against Team BDS.
LoL Worlds Qualifying Series: The Date & Location
The Qualifying Series will take place in South Korea at the well known League of Legends Park in Seoul. The much anticipated match-up is scheduled for October 8, 2023. The Games will begin at 9pm PT / 6am CET/ 1pm KST.
While we had originally planned to host the Worlds Qualifying Series in North America, we have elected to move the event to South Korea to allow the two potential teams as much time as possible to prepare in the host region, minimize travel, and scrim against qualified Worlds teams before the Play-In Stage.
