Yuumi was disabled for LoL MSI 2023 and fans finally felt a fresh of breath air, seeing new support champions in the meta. How long can this happiness last though?
One very annoying champion was disabled throughout the 2023 League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational and fans have quite enjoyed her absence. Ahead of the tournament, Yuumi got a major overhaul but it hadn't been tested in pro play enough to let it be used during the tournament.
Yuumi has been the bane of esports fans existence for the last two years with the little cat rearing her cute head back at the 2021 World Championship and never leaving since. Now fans celebrate her absence and how good it was to have a tournament without worrying about her.

Yuumi is probably one of the most disliked champions in League of Legends. She is especially hated by League of Legends esports fans since she's been present at any and every international, as well as regional tournament throughout the last few years.

Now fans are expressing how refreshing it has been for the support meta to see other picks than Yuumi dominate.
Yuumi not being a part of MSI really felt to me like we went back to a better state of league esports.
Unfortunately, fans will have to get used to Yuumi once more once the regional leagues start up again, with Yuumi finally being enabled again, which could mean that we're going to have to see much more of the character once more, especially after her rework which now discourages her from moving between players.
Milio is another champion that will likely be a key pick in pro play once the regional leagues kick off once more.

The bot lane meta throughout the Mid-Season Invitational was dominated heavily by Jinx and Aphelios. Aphelios was picked a total of 46 times with a win rate of 43%, while Jinx was the clear winner in the 1-vs-1 with 43 picks and a win rate of 58% throughout MSI.
So, while we had more diversity in the bot lane (though Lulu and Rakan were quite prevalent as well) fans felt that support players could showcase more of their skill on these champions than they ever could on Yuumi.
