G2's founder and former CEO, Carlos aka Ocelote, is back and unhinged as usual. This time, the mid laner turned Esport entrepreneur shoots against his former player, Rekkles.
Oh baby, it smells like beef in the European esports scene, and this time two of the biggest names in League of Legends are involved. Former G2 founder and CEO Carlos "ocelote" Rodríguez is back and shoots against his former player Martin "Rekkles" Larsson.
Ocelote Is Back And Shoots Against Rekkles
Ocelote might be one of the most controversial figures in European Esports in the last years. And it seems to be the case that he wants to add a chapter to this history. In a recent interview with the "Esport Historian" Duncan "Thorin" Shields, Rodriguez had some things to say about his former player Rekkles. He's not very positive about him, to say the least.
Rekkles, who joined Ocelote's G2 back in 2021, gets called "the worst possible teammate in many occasions", Rekkles' time in G2 wasn't very successful to be honest. The team didn't manage to qualify for an international tournament. Rekkles left the following year.
One of the biggest points of criticism for Ocelote was the unwillingness of Rekkles to adapt:
Rekkles is like a whimsical woman, that's how he reacts, you know. You have a talk with him, and you say: "Hey, you have to play more than this champion, which is not even meta. You have to play meta champions. This is what the coach wants, and you got to do it bro, you have to do it." And he's is like, "yeah yeah I understand". And the next thing you here, is the day after the scrims. He is muting his microphone and just picking automatically this champion."[...] He's that kind of person, he is the worst kind of teammate to have in a team in many occasions
Besides this, Ocelote still calls Rekkles an incredible mechanical player and as a great asset in crunch times.
It will be interesting to if and how Rekkles is going to react to these comments about him. But it's not a secret that Rekkles himself isn't happy about his time in G2, as he said in a livestream that he and Ocelote were "enemies" during these time.
Now that Ocelote is back, we can surely expect many more stories from the past in future interviews or other formats. But it seems like Ocelote hasn't lost his unhinged style over the course of his "break"
