LoL Patch 13.7: This Mage Is Tearing The Bot Lane Apart

In the current League of Legends patch an unlikely champion is tearing up the bot lane meta. Out with ADC's and in with this mage!

Back in Season 12, Seraphine completely took over the bot lane meta as a mage, but now it seems like another unlikely champion has taken her place and become one of the hottest commodities in League of Legends right now.

Of course, not everyone is going to enjoy playing Karthus in the bot lane, with him having transitioned from the mid lane to the jungle previously, but he has been a consistent pick for anyone who wants to surprise their bot lane opponents.

LoL Patch 13.7: Karthus Dominates With 54% Win Rate

A 54% win rate should tell you a lot about a champion. While it does have to be stated that Karthus doesn't have the highest play rate, when checking lolalytics, we can see that throughout the first few patches of LoL Season 13, Karthus has been one of the best picks in the bot lane.

You should definitely play some bot lane Heimerdinger with Karthus for extreme annoyance!

He has been hovering around the 54% win rate ever since the start of League of Legends season 13 and while his pick rate is only around 1.5%, which pales in comparison to other bot lane champions like Kai'Sa and Xayah, who sit around 20% pick rate mark, it's still impressive.

It seems that slowly but surely, Karthus is turning into a bot lane monster. His jungle win rate hasn't been the best sitting around 49% throughout LoL Patch 13.7. This could be due to Karthus' power farming capabilities which just don't fit into the current jungle meta where early ganks are the way to go, while farming junglers fall to the wayside.

It seems that buffs to Karthus are not in the near future, due to his high bot lane win rate, but Riot also won't be able to nerf him thanks to the abysmal jungle rank right now. That's why we probably don't see him on the nerf list of LoL Patch 13.8 anyway, so we're going to have to wait to see what Riot does with this unique flex-pick.
