The Asian Games are taking place in Hangzhou, China this year, with League of Legends and esports being a medal event. The first matches have already taken place, with Vietnam and South Korea showing why they're considered great teams, while China is waiting for them past the preliminaries.
With so many great League of Legends players coming together from all over Asia in one spot, there are some pretty big names among them. One name trumps all of them, and it seems he even trumps other athletes at the event.
Of course, it's none other than Lee “Faker” Sang-Hyeok who is representing his home nation of South Korea. Already, his arrival was a huge deal, with fans and reporters rushing to him and crowding him at the airport.
Since then, he's also become one of the most photographed people, with athletes from all over the continent asking for a picture with him. Not only are South Korean athletes asking for images, but others as well, showing just how famous Faker has truly become worldwide and how other athletes respect esports as its own discipline.
Faker himself, in a post-match press conference, stated that he has taken quite a lot of pictures and autographs “many asked for my autograph. We also took a lot of photos together. I was grateful for the recognition and attention.”
