Riot Games has talked about their champion roadmap for 2022 and revealed which new champs will be coming to the game soon. So how many new champs are coming to League of Legends in 2022?
As usual, Riot Games talks to us every year about the goals to be achieved in the current year and gives a preview of what we can expect next year. So which champs can we expect in 2022 and which roles will get the first new champions in League of Legends 2022?

New League of Legends Champs 2022
In 2022, at least one champ is to be released on each lane. On the Mid Lane even two! One for assassin and skirmisher players and one for mage players. Unfortunately, the plan could not be implemented this season, because the champs currently do not fit the planned event at the end of the year.
As such, we’ll be releasing the ADC early next year and the support a few patches after.
So the League of Legends year 2022 starts with a new ADC!
Since we're getting one less champion than planned this year, we might get one more champion next year.
Visual updates for LoL Season 12
Riot Games is currently working on revamping old champions with even older skins and designs. The updates are expected to have little impact on the stories or gameplay of the champions, as opposed to complete overhauls.
The goal of Art & Sustainability Updates is to help bring some of League’s older champions up to our modern quality standards, fix older technical issues, and make it easier to make new skins for those champions in the future.
Finally, no more Ravager Notune or Rusty Blitzcrank... Thanks Riot Games!
The first visual updates are scheduled to appear later this year!
New ADC in League of Legends
The new champion will be released in League of Legends at the beginning of the year! It will be an ADC Marksman and will have a lot to do with electricity... What does that mean?
We wanted to create a kinetic marksman who’s always on the move, pulsing with sparky determination. A champ who plays the game at a machine gun pace and brings the feeling of a shooter game to the roster. We also really wanted to explore more unique basic attack concepts in League.
The new ADC is supposed to be a classic marksman and, like Jinx, Ashe and Vayne, work primarily through Auto Attacks.

New Support in League of Legends
Riot Games is being very quiet about the new support. He's supposed to be money-hungry, able to manipulate others with his scary charisma, and control the entire game. Sounds like a kind of Elon Musk in the League of Legends universe.
- Haven't found a main support yet? Maybe you like Thresh!
Maybe the champ will be able to launch SpaceX rockets and drive onto the lane in a Tesla. We can only speculate, but the concept sounds interesting for now! Riot calls him a "villainous supporter"... Is Pyke getting competition?
News about Udyr
The druid keeps his antlers! You'll get more info in the next blogpost... That's actually all Riot Games has to say about the Jungler. Here you can see the final antler version of Udyr:
The bandages on his hands are meant to reflect the friendship between Udyr and Lee Sin from their time in Ionia.
Last time, we shared our idea of evolving Udyr’s theme by making each of his stances associated with a Freljordian demigod. Your response was overwhelmingly positive, which got us even more excited by the prospect of connecting Udyr to Runeterra in a much stronger way!
This is what Udyr's stances will look like in the future:
That's it for Riot Games' champion plans in League of Legends. Which champs or themes did you like the most? Let us know on Discord, or on our socials like Twitter or Facebook!
