The LFL team Karmine Corp has confirmed that they've signed star ADC Martin "Rekkles" Larsson in the off-season.
Update: French publication L'Équipe has confirmed the move.
Ever since G2 Esports founder and CEO Carlos "ocelote" Rodríguez Santiago announced that G2 Esports will be rebuilt for 2022, the team's fans - and, honestly, many LEC fans in general - have been abuzz. The team stated that it would release three of its star players - top laner Martin "Wunder" Nordahl Hanson, support Mihael "Mikyx" Mehle and their most recent acquisition, the former Fnatic AD carry Martin "Rekkles" Larsson.
This comes after a less than stellar season for G2. The team was unable to defend its 2020 LEC title this year and we saw MAD Lions win both splits. Even worse, G2 narrowly missed going to Worlds after a 2:3 playoff series against Fnatic. Fans at the time were critical of the three players, though they were also often on point throughout the year - Rekkles was even the MVP of the 2021 spring split. Many fans were quite curious where he would end up in 2022 but until recently, the European regional leagues were not taken a serious destination.

Rekkles Signs with KCorp
Rumors of Rekkles signing with the LFL team were afloat, especially after Inyustificado from the Spanish website Esportsmaniacos dropped the rumor bombshell of Rekkles signing with the team. The rumor started when it was revealed that KCorp had had a verbal agreement to take Cream Real Betis ADC Jakob "Jackspektra" Kepple but opted to take Rekkles instead. Jackspektra himself tweeted a laconic "lft :)".
Well, now the rumors are no more because KCorp officially announced the acquisition of Rekkles earlier on November 16, 2021. The star ADC will be going to the LFL and playing in one of the minor regions. Who would have seen this coming at the beginning of 2021?
Who Are KCorp and the LFL?
Karmine Corp is a team from the French regional league, the LFL. They took the crown at the EU Masters in 2021, showing off their skill and prowess on the international stage – though smaller than what Rekkles is used to.
They've cultivated LEC talent, such as Adam "Adam" Maanane who had an incredible summer split on Fnatic as well. With his experience in the pro scene, Rekkles will be able to help develop new LEC talents.
