The former League of Legends Caster Joshua "Jatt" Leesman officially resigned as Team Liquid's LCS Head Coach. After a year full of successes and the rise of Liquid as a serious competitor in the North American Championship Series, his time is finally over for now. But was he forced into resignation? Let's find out.

There was very much of a dispute going on on Twitter yesterday about whether Team Liquid's Head Coach Jatt was forced away from the company or not. Fact is, the team announced yesterday that they are officially parting ways with Jatt. The former caster has worked for the team since May 2020. His contract was actually ongoing until November next year but his official resignation was released in a press conference on Thursday.

What happened to Jatt League of Legends?

Joshua "Jatt" Leesman was an LCS Caster at Riot Games from 2012 on. In May 2020 he started his job as Team Liquid's Head Coach for the upcoming summer split. His place is going to be taken by Jonas "Kold" Anderson as future leader of the LCS Team on an interim position. Albert "H4xDefender" Ong will fill in as assistant coach.

After Jatt took the Head Coach position, Team Liquid had quite a successful year, qualifying for the 2020 World Championshipand just barely missing the finals in the LCS Spring Split 2021. Now though, two weeks into the Summer Split 2021, Liquid is underperforming. With a 3rd place and a 5-4 record they are not living up to the promising expectations of the past. Maybe that will change under Kold.

Apart from the Head Coach Change, Team Liquid is also facing some roster adjustments. Starting Jungler "Santorin" will be stepping away from competitive play for some time due to health issues and Toplaner "Alphari" was confirmed to be benched until June 27. He showed some serious "performance and attitude issues" after Team Liquid was destroyed by Immortals in their first game of the LCS Summer Split.
