At the beginning of December, Wild Rift will finally enters its Open Beta in Europe (about damn time!). To prepare you for mobile League of Legends, we present you with the best smartphones between €600 and €1,200 for playing Wild Rift.
Players in Asia can already test Wild Rift in the Open Beta, and have been for quite some time now! Meanwhile, us Europeans have been patiently waiting for December 10 to come around (poor us!!) – but at least we are not in the US, where we wouldn’t get the opportunity to jump in until 2021... While the game is still in beta, and not even worldwide, the first esports teams are already forming to compete in Wild Rift! Unsurprising, considering that Riot’s mobile game is based on one of the biggest esports titles ever: League of Legends.

Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max
Let’s start right away with the new top dog of the smartphone market – the iPhone 12. Yes, Wild Rift is also coming to iOS, and Apple even used the game to introduce their new smartphone!
The newly-released iPhone 12 Pro Max is at the spearhead of the current smartphone generation. For the privilege of using Apple’s prestigious product, you’ll have to cough up €1,220... that’s a breathtaking price, but you get a lot for it!
The iPhone 12 Pro Max comes with an A14 Bionic CPU – to those of you who might not know the ins-and-outs of smartphone CPUs, this is the fastest on the market today. Despite this, the frame rate is somehow only 60 Hz and lags behind competitors.
If you don’t have that much money on the table, we don’t blame you, not many people do in this economy! Apple also understands, apparently, with the various contracts that make your new iPhone affordable. Make sure you like the damn thing before you enter one of those bad boys though...you’ll be stuck with it for like three years!
Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra
Shifting away from Apple, let's take a look at their biggest competitor Samsung and they better have something good up their sleeve! The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra shines in just about every area and is *only* €900, so slightly less breathtaking...
The 6.9-inch display doubles that of the iPhone with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. On top of that, there are 12GB of RAM and a convincing battery life, and the camera is one the best currently on the smartphone camera market.
The only drawback – you need a rather large trouser pocket... However, this also means that you can update your wardrobe! Oh, and you can see everything much clearer in Wild Rift without needing a magnifying glass.
Xiaomi Black Shark 3
For those with a somewhat smaller wallet, Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi offers a perfect gaming smartphone.
The Black Shark 3, which costs almost €600, offers everything a mobile gamer’s heart desires: 270 Hz, 5G support, strong CPU and up to 12GB of RAM. Surprisingly, even the cameras are in the top league of Android smartphones. An absolute price/performance balance! It also looks REALLY cool.
