In League of Legends' latest patch, 10.21, we took a close look at the change on every lane. After the nerfs from the previous update, champs like Katarina have been seen less frequently on the mid lane. But which ones are currently fighting for victory in the Rift?

In this LoL tier list, we show you the best champions for each lane. We especially focus on their win rate and carry potential, because in some games you often have to carry your teammates to victory. Today we take a look at the mid lane.

5. Yasuo (Win Rate: 49.6%)

You won't go wrong with Yasuo if you want to play a mobile crit monster. With his E - Sweeping Blade, the samurai can jump to or away from his opponents quickly, if necessary. He's very strong in team fights and helps take your opponents apart.

His passive - Way of the Wanderer encourages mobility and gives him sustain during the laning phase. Additionally, the double crit rate through all items plays a decisive role. That's why you want to get items like Phantom Dancer and Infinity Edge.

Since Yasuo is not good with CC effects, you should aim for a Quicksilver Sash as soon as possible to counteract this. He snowballs very well into the late game when he has an advantage. On the other hand, he has extreme problems getting back into the game when he is behind.

Yasuo is an all-in champ but if you manage to master him, his playstyle will feel very fluid and rewarding and you can become the solo carry for your team. Just be careful, because Wind Wall (W) has a long cool down in the early game.

4. Annie (Win Rate: 52.8%)

Annie is a magician with a rather short range. She has the potential to inflict massive damage and can even burst away the enemy carry in a team fight.

Her kit mainly offers AoE damage and stun possibilities, making her a champ that is easier to learn and not too difficult to master. With her ultimate, Summon: Tibbers, she calls a huge teddy bear to fight with her. She can protect herself and Tibbers with her E - Molten Shield and also receives a small movement speed bonus. Unfortunately, this is also the only mobility bonus you have.

Otherwise, Annie expects you to be able to handle Flash perfectly to use situations for burst damage or to escape from dangerous gank attacks. If Flash is on cooldown you might be in trouble. If Annie dies while Tibbers was alive, Tibbers will be healed and attack her killer in a fury to avenge you. If the killer is too far away, Tibbers will focus on the nearest victim with the lowest HP.

3. Galio (Win Rate: 52.4%)

Mid Lane Galio

Galio can survive pretty well on his lane thanks to his kit and also help out his teammates. In fact, his ultimate - Hero's Entrance is a way to jump to any allied champ on the map, give him a shield, and inflict extreme damage on nearby enemies.

With his W - Shield of Durand, which can be recharged, Galio gives himself a shield that can ward off mostly magic damage. However, it also slows him down by 15%, and cannot use flash while charging. If you equip Galio with Doran's ring, you will have improved mana regen and a little more health over a long period of time.

Your first item, however, should be Hextech Protobelt-01, as this will increase your damage from Justice Punch (W) enormously. Sorcerer's Shoes will also help you knock out your enemies.

2. Yone (Win Rate: 50.1%)

LoL Yone

If you're looking for another powerful assassin besides Zed, Yone might be just the pick. Yone has the advantage of being able to do not only physical but also magic damage. It's hard to master this champ, but if you dedicated enough time, you could outplay your opponents with flashy abilities and emerge victorious from most fights.

As an assassin, you have the damage output to take down most squishy enemies and as a skirmisher, your kit and items will allow you to help out other lanes. That's why Yone is an incredibly valuable member, especially in team fights.

You want to add Ignite to Flash as a summoner spell, because it allows Yone to apply even more pressure during the lining phase. In terms of runes, you should definitely get Conqueror. When leveling you'd want to focus on maximizing your Q - Mortal Steel, because that's your main damage and poke.

Soul Unbound (E) is the second skill that you want to improve as fast as you can. It'll get you fast engagements and help avoid even more damage that is projected back to your opponent. In the items department, you should get an Infinity Edge and Phantom Dancer or Statikk Shiv, depending on the situation.

1. Zed (Win Rate: 52.0%)

Mid Lane Zed

And again, we find Zed at the top of the food chain. We just can't deny it, Zed is the strongest mid laner and this will probably not change for some time. His kit has everything you need to take out enemies quickly. His skills allow him to get involved in fights as well as a good escape to get out of tricky situations.

His W - Living Shadow, as the name suggests, creates a shadow that mimics your abilities and does damage along with you. For every skill, you imitate you get energy. When you execute the skill again, you swap places with your shadow - so use it wisely.

Zed's ultimate is an even more powerful version of your W. You select a target and give it a death mark, then you summon a shadow that does damage with you again. You can even use your W in the meantime to have 2 shadows at your side. While the target is marked, you can do maximum damage of 155% of Zed's attack when the marker detonates after 3 seconds.

For Zed, since he is an assassin, you should go for items, such as Duskblade of Draktharr, Youmuu's Ghostblade, and Black Cleaver.
