Arcane Act I was just released, so now fans are eagerly awaiting Act II. What could happen in the upcoming episodes?
Over the weekend, League of Legends’ Arcane took over Netflix. The show kicked off with great success, earning a rotten tomato rating of 98% and fans singing the praises all over Twitter. Seriously, who would have thought that the anime of the year would come from Riot Games?
So with the first three episodes out, we have to wonder what else will be happening in the show? Which champions might we encounter in the second part, and where could the story be heading?
Warning, this article will include some spoilers from Arcane Act I, so before reading this, go watch the first three episodes of Arcane!
The Discovery of Hextech Weapons
In the first act, we got a glimpse of what Hextech and the power to harness magic can do. It was pretty explosive in the first three episodes of the Netflix series, but what can be done once you’ve stabilized the crystals?
That’s what Jayce and Viktor will figure out together. Sure, they managed to stabilize it in the first arc but to harness Hextech into weapons and other gadgets will be the next stepping stone and Arcane Act II will probably take a deep dive into the creation of Hextech augments.
This is also seen in the trailer for the next chapter of the Arcane x Riot event – Progress days. There is a short clip, we see Jayce with a small Hextech gem while Viktor narrates. This could mean that the two manage to create Jayce’s signature weapon – the Mercury Hammer.
What Happened to Vi?
In Arcane Act II, we will probably also skip ahead a few years. Vi will likely be imprisoned, as we can tell from the trailer, and will be freed by none other than Caitlyn – who, by then, is already the Sheriff of Piltover.
In the final scenes of Act I, Vi was taken away by Marcus, who probably took her to Piltover and imprisoned her. Years later, she will be released, either by Caitlyn to help her or since her sentence ended.
- Have you seen Caitlyn's new visuals?
We know that Vi and Caitlyn will eventually work together, and that Vi is also going to be receiving a Hextech weapon – her gauntlets. This will mark an important part of the series.
Powder Becomes Jinx
At the end of Act I, we see Silco taking in Powder. Throughout the first three episodes, this man has given us nothing but bad shivers, so nothing good will come of this. We also know that Powder’s eyes have to change color at some point.
- Excited for Jinx in Arcane? Get her free Arcane skin during the Riot x Arcane event!
In League of Legends, Jinx has pink eyes, while in the show – until now – Powder has had blue eyes. The liquid with which Silco augments his fighters is also pink. Coincidence? We think not! There is a connection between Jinx’s mental instability, the purple liquid and Silco.
Unrest in Zaun and Piltover
Vander and Grayson have been the peacekeepers between Piltover and Zaun throughout the last few years. With both dead, this could mean that tensions between the underground and topside rise once more.
With Marcus finding Vi and capturing her, he could also receive a promotion, becoming the new head of the Piltover enforcers. His ambition and disdain for Zaun could lead to even more conflicts between the two cities.
When Will Arcane Act II Be Released?
The next act of Arcane is going to be released on November 13, 2021. You can watch the show on Netflix and theorize with us in our Discord after the episodes!
