If you ever wondered what the Chinese God of War would look like well here it is – Black Myth: Wukong. The action-adventure game just got another trailer in celebration of the upcoming Chinese New Year.

The first time we heard of Black Myth: Wukong was back in 2020. That’s when we got a taste with 13 minutes of gameplay from the upcoming titles.

Black Myth is basically God of War on steroids and it’s looking really promising. Not much is known about the plot of the game but you’ll definitely be playing the role of the Monkey King himself. Black Myth is probably going to be based on the popular Chinese novel, Journey to the West and you’ll be able to explore many of Wukong’s adventures.

The game is visually pleasing and in terms of combat, it’s on a whole new level compared to many rival titles. Wukong possesses numerous abilities and many of them are as supernatural as they go - from turning into a giant to making clones of yourself and much more.

At the end of the first trailer, there’s another “Wukong” making an entrance and that’s probably The Six Eared Macaque, one of the main antagonists in the novel. The Macaque is arguably as powerful as Wukong himself and he poses as the Monkey King.

In the latest trailer, or should we say teaser not much is revealed in terms of story. We feel it’s more of a celebration for the upcoming Chinese New Year. A rat enemy is defeated (end of the year of the rat) and a bull appears (start of the year of the ox). The trailer even opens with a short wish from the devs:

As the Mouse gives way to the Ox, we have a growing talent and force. Here is a little tune for you, gamers dear, may you have a prosperous year.

Game Science really has us intrigued with their title and we’re more than excited about it. What are your thoughts on Black Myth: Wukong? Drop us a line on Facebook or Discord!
