Nintendo's first Direct in more than a year was a gripping success, highlighted by the announcement of an HD remaster of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. The gameplay trailer answered some pressing questions, and showed off the game in all of its Switch glory!
We have news that is bound to make you moist: The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is getting an HD remaster on the Switch! Holy cow in a bucket, that's big news, and that's great news. It might be a tad surprising, considering all of the bollock's leaks about a Mario-style collection – but maybe this could be a lesson for us, enough of the constant leaks?
Anyhow, the latest announcement comes a whole decade after the game in question actually launched - that's all the way back on the Wii! Not the Wii U, the Wii! That's crazy, as it was a celebration of what was then Zelda's 25th anniversary... and now it's the 35th anniversary! Feels like yesterday, so it's pretty crazy.
Then there was the announcement trailer, featuring good ol’ Eiji Aonuma. He stood there in his fabulous Zelda shirt (and VERY stylish jacket), beaming into our YouTube screens with some fantastic information. A release date, some gameplay, and an answer to the question on all of our minds: how the f**k will those motion controls work on Switch?
There you have it: basically exactly the same way that it worked on the Wii! The alternative control scheme is a good addition to the game, as it is quite important to have an option for those players... but whether it will be any good? That's yet to be seen. It looks a bit dodgy, if you ask us!
What's The Bloody Release Date?
Okay, okay, we'll get to it. As fans of the original game, we still hold our lovely 25th anniversary golden Wii remotes in high esteem, so the announcement of those cool as f**k Switch Controllers... s**t yes! These look awesome, and we are super excited to have them in our greasy little hands, and play the absolute c**p out of them!
As for the release date – we have a FABULOUS announcement for you! It's all coming out on July 16, including the awesome controllers. We would say “GO PREORDER THIS NOW”, but preordering is stupid, so don't do that. We are insanely over-excited about this announcement. We want this game now. Seriously. Now. Cheerio!
