Now back to the question: should I get them?

Well, it’s up to you, of course… but no. Not if you’re an Arena player!

Of course, every Secret Lair comes with very unique aesthetics and makes those few included cards very special. If you like the alternate artwork, or the theme, or have a sentiment towards a particular card… AND you play paper Magic with your friends - sure, go ahead! But if you only play on your computer there’s practically no point in doing that.

Why? Because all an MTGA player gets out of this are the super-special sleeves, but guess what: they are technically not exclusive. Wizards reserve the right to put these in the in-game store at any point and charge some Gems for them.

So, if you like lovely artwork and/or brutal heavy metal lands - go ahead and shill your hard-earned cash. But if you wanna do some drafting on MTG Arena in style, you’re better off waiting for those sleeves to come individually and stanch them for much, much cheaper! If you’re not interested in shilling tons of cash and get some stuff for free, you should go sign up to MyEarlyGame and enjoy a customized, ad-free experience, and raffles with cool prizes!
