Polish Counter-Strike legends Filip “NEO” Kubski and Wiktor “TaZ” Wojtas are not going anywhere! The iconic duo is headlining a new Polish team under the name HONORIS that will feature some of the more prominent young Polish talent in addition to the two veterans.
Right back at it again
NEO and TaZ are names that have long been engraved in the CS:GO mythology. The Poles played together for years in Counter-Strike 1.6 before making the switch to CS:GO in 2012. In 2013, the legendary five-man lineup of Jarosław “pashaBiceps” Jarząbkowski, Janusz “Snax” Pogorzelski and Paweł “byali” Bieliński, TaZ and NEO would form. They would go on to play together for Virtus.pro for nearly five years, winning multiple titles, including ESL One Katowice 2014 – VP’s first and only Major to date.
The lineup’s decay began with TaZ’s dismissal after the ELEAGUE Major in 2018 and by the middle of 2019, none of the original five were on Virtus.pro’s books. TaZ and NEO found their way to each other for a very short period at the tail end of 2019 when they played together for a team named ARCY. This team disbanded in January, but the old guys were adamant they wanted to play together, so here they are.

NEO and TaZ are joined by Polish newcomers Wojciech “Prism” Zięba and Kamil “reiko” Cegiełko, as well as 25-year-old Daniel “STOMP” Płomiński who last showed up for Illuminar – Snax’ current team. HONORIS have secured the backing of international giant Red Bull, which means this isn’t your average friendly startup.
It’s nice to see legends still being hungry to compete. We live in times where Adam “friberg” and Patrik “f0rest” Lindberg are on the sime side of the server again, so why not TaZ and NEO? Realistically, we can’t expect much. Similar to Dignitas, HONORIS will probably find it hard to break through, but the old dudes don’t care. They want to play and they want to play under their own terms. We can only enjoy them while we can.
