The latest Overwatch update comes with some notable changes: light buffs, a pretty hard nerf for Brigitte and changes in the Competitive Open Queue. Here comes everything you need to know about the new Overwatch patch.
Competitive Open Queue
We’ll get to the ritual sacrifice of Brigitte shortly. First let’s talk about the introduction of an Open Queue next to the Role Queue in the competitive game screen. This gives players the freedom to play however they like, without sticking to any set roles. Kudos to Blizzard where it’s due. That’s a neat addition that if anything should have been implemented much earlier into Overwatch’s life.
Skill Rating
Another major change affecting competitive play is the new way Skill Ratings will work. After this update, the maximum SR a player can start a season with after finishing the ranking games is 3900. Actual SR will begin to show only after you’ve played (and won) enough games to bring your rating up.

Brigitte nerfed
Brigitte lovers are probably Blizzard haters right now. You might as well just hide across the map if you’re playing her as this update turns Brigitte into easy prey for fast damage dealers like Genji or Tracer. Even Echo can be quite dangerous for her now.
It's all because of the weaker armor the patch has brought with it. The shield's cooldown has also been lowered, as has life regeneration. It doesn't help that the maximum health has been increased from 200 to 250. Genji just needs to hit a bit more often and that's it.
D.Va, on the other hand, can be happy about the patch. Her fusion cannons only delay their mobility by 40 instead of 50 percent. The Defense Matrix now has a cooldown of one second and the delay in activating Micro Missiles has been reduced from 0.5 to 0.25.
Ashe has also received a small nerf: the cooldown on Dynamite has been increased from 10 to 12 seconds. Junkrat is on the other side of the fence with a small buff: his Concussion Mine now has a trigger delay of 0.1 instead of 0.156 seconds.
