While director Mike Mitchell is currently busy with Kung Fu Panda 4, he still has some ideas for a possible sequel to the 2005 superhero movie Sky High, according to an interview with comicbook.com.

Mike Mitchell On Sky High: "I'm Ready To Go"

Mike Mitchell not only directed Sky High, but also other great movies like Shrek Forever After, Trolls or The Lego Movie 2. But it seems that his heart beats a little extra for action movies – in 2019 he told Comicbook.com "Oh yeah, I love superheroes. I did a superhero film years ago, Sky High, and I'm such a fan" and even then it seemed like he wanted to do another superhero movie.

When Sky High came out, Mitchell talked about the movie with Kevin Feige, president and COO of Marvel, who loved the movie. While that sounds like a great premise for a new Sky High movie from Marvel, Mitchell said in the interview: "Let's have Marvel do Sky High! That would be fun. So, I'm ready to go". That sounds pretty promising, so maybe we can expect a Sky High sequel in the next few years.

What is Sky High about?

Sky High follows the journey of Will Stronghold, the son of legendary heroes, as he navigates high school and discovers his own strengths under the pressure of living up to his family's legacy. Mitchell says it's "the first superhero comedy that was having fun with the genre, but at the same time honoring it".
