FIFA has been looking for a new partner to make football games after breaking with EA. Rumors now suggest that it could be 2K.
A hot new rumor suggests that 2K, responsible for popular NBA games and other sports titles, could create the next official FIFA games. The football organization didn’t renew its agreement with EA, and since 2023 the games formerly known as FIFA are now called EA Sports FC.
Since then, the federation has been looking for a new developer to make official FIFA games. According to new rumors, it looks like the right one has been found. Several rumors suggest, that 2K will partner up with FIFA to create an officially licensed football simulation.
2K Rumored To Make New FIFA Games
Multiple sources have popped up on February 12 talking about 2K making new FIFA games. This includes Mike Straw of Insider Gaming, who posted about it on Twitter/X. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to share more details so far.
I'm hearing rumors that FIFA/2K are working to announce a partnership for 2K to make an officially-licensed FIFA game.Working to hopefully land more on this.

This partnership has been rumored before and frankly makes a lot of sense. 2K is one of the biggest publishers and developers of sports games and count popular series like NBA, WWE and PGA Tour series among their portfolio. The company is set to expand their selection of sports games, as a new Top Spin game and even a Lego football game have recently been revealed. These folks making a new mainstream football game is really just a logical next step.
The company’s first attempt at a football game, apparently titled LEGO 2K Goooal! is set to be announced very soon and should release in summer 2024 to coincide with the European Championship 2024. This was revealed by insider Kurakasis, who also suggests that the possible 2K/FIFA partnership could be announced around the same time.
What do you think about this rumor? Does it make sense for 2K to make FIFA games? What do you expect from the new series? Let us know in the comments!
