Fortnite is known for his mythic weapons, that keep changing every season since Chapter 2. But some of them are so memorable, that we have to mention them here again. We have made a tier list of the best mythic weapons in Fortnite history. Let's get into the Top 10 ranking!
Fortnite is known for continually changing the meta. Every season brings new weapons, items, maps, and mythic weapons! And today, we're going to focus specifically on these! Mythic weapons often become the key to win in a season. Some were so overpowered that claiming a Victory Royale was almost guaranteed just by picking them up. But let's take a look at the ranking!
Fortnite - Top 10 Mythic Weapons
Let's dive right in! The weapons are ranked from 10 to 1, primarily considering how easy it was to win a fight or a match with each weapon. Let's go!
10. Spire Assassin's Primal Shotgun
Season 6 of Chapter 2 needed a terrible weapon, and the Primal Shotgun was just that — overpowered. A rapid double burst could easily wipe out opponents. While the regular Primal Shotgun was already strong, the mythic version was especially painful.
I think we're all glad it's no longer in the game. Just for its nuisance, it earns the 10th spot.
9. Enhanced Havoc Pump Shotgun
The Havoc Pump Shotgun was featured in Chapter 4 Seasons 2 and 3, known for its incredibly high precision, solid range, and significant building damage. Its mythic variant was capable of delivering those beloved "One-Pumps." It was a truly powerful shotgun that was a joy to use in its mythic form.
You could find the mythic version in the vaults during Chapter 4 Season 2. They were so OP that every player could get a shotgun (along with a lot of gold and legendary Slurps). Although it was very helpful in securing a Victory Royale, multiple players could find one in a match, making it not too OP. Anyway, a well-deserved ninth place.
8. Nisha's Striker AR
Nisha was a boss in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1. She patrolled in Fencing Fields and dropped, besides a purple Hammer Shotgun and her Medallion, her mythic Striker AR as well. This SCAR with pre modifications was incredibly fast-firing yet surprisingly precise and packed a serious punch, making it one of the strongest ARs ever.
Despite the introduced bullet drop, this SCAR felt like a laser. But there are even more extreme weapons.
7. The Foundation's MK-Seven Assault Rifle
The MK-7 was probably one of the most game-breaking weapons in Fortnite Chapter 3. And the mythic version was just as broken! In Chapter 3, its damage had to be reduced. When it came back in Chapter 4 Season 4, it was nerfed even further. This time affecting its damage and fire rate. Nevertheless, it was still brutally effective in that season.
As the only MK-7 in Chapter 4 Season 4 and by far the strongest AR, it undoubtedly deserves at least the seventh spot! You could luck out and find it in one of the three vaults, but it was available only once per round.
6. Brutus' Minigun
This Minigun was simply insane. With 21 damage and a fire rate of 12, it was unbeatable at the time. Compared to the regular Minigun, this mythic version had a special advantage: you didn't have to wait for the gun to charge up before firing. Brutus' Minigun's spin-up time was significantly shorter. It almost felt like shooting immediately.
It wasn't just a faster, and to be fair less accurate AR, but also an SMG replacement when things got tough. Plus, it fired so quickly that despite the high bloom, you always hit something, even on further distance. A truly terrifying weapon.
5. Overclocked Pulse Rifle
Many might not even remember this weapon. It was released in Chapter 4 Season 2. You could only get it on the rift Islands, which still spawn in the mid-game today. If you captured the flag there, several of these guns would drop to the floor. And this weapon is just crazy!
Does anyone still remember the Stark Industries Energy Rifle? If you thought that was OP, then hear me now. The Overclocked Pulse Rifle had a faster fire rate from the hip and while aiming down. Also, the zoomed in mode deals a lot more damage than the stark rifle did. Moreover, it's pretty easy to control the spray of the hipfire. Plus, it dealt significantly more damage when zoomed in than its older counterpart. It even had a larger magazine with 20 shots!
It's almost offensive not to immediately put it at number one. But since it was more commonly available per round, it wasn't quite unique. It would still make sense to rank it higher, though.
4. Midas' Drum Gun
The birth of a legend. Chapter 2 Season 2 brought the Tommygun back to Fortnite, but only one special version, and it packed a punch. Midas' mythic Drum Gun had it all: high damage, high fire rate, double headshot multiplier, and it was gold, which is crucial of course. You used to get it from Midas himself at The Agency.
The dream of every controller player. Whether firing from the hip, in mid-jump, or from 30 meters away - this gun always hit hard. Just picking it up gave a feeling of invincibility. No weapon has made quite an impression like Midas' Drum Gun. Even though it only returned to the game totally nerfed, no one will forget its legendary days.
3. Skye's Assault Rifle & Grappler
Staying in Chapter 2 Season 2. And even though young Skye was a bit more unassuming than Midas, her weapons almost guaranteed a win! She lived in the northwest of the Chapter 2 map at The Shark. Those who defeated her received both — the mythic SCAR, which had a significantly higher fire rate than any other assault rifle at the time, and the mythic Grappler.
About the Grappler: What can we tell you? You get an infinite-use transportation item! As the Grappler wasn't consumed like usual, you could use it as often as you wanted. Whether getting into the zone or climbing enemy buildings, the Grappler was just OP!
2. Kit's Shockwave Launcher & Charge Shotgun
If we're talking about sure wins, this combo can't be missed out. The small, unassuming spot Catty Corner from Chapter 2 Season 3 had a special boss. Kit, the baby cat in a robot. If you managed to eliminate Kit — and all the other 10 opponents who wanted the items — you didn't just get the mythic Charge Shotgun, capable of delivering One-Pumps, but also the insane Shockwave Launcher.
And that was truly the definition of OP! It felt like every second game was won by the person who had the Shockwave Launcher at the end. All the other times, they probably just died in the storm, so no one could carry it to the final zone. With the shockwaves, probably more than a few of you were sent on vacation at least once this season. The speed of the Launcher was insane, and the weapon overall too strong. There's really only one item that could steal the top spot from this duo, mostly because of the outrageous Shockwave Launcher.
1. Infinity Blade
We all remember it — the Infinity Blade! It appeared on December 11, 2018, at Polar Peak in Season 7. Those who managed to pull the sword from the stone without being shot by other players held the strongest weapon of all time in their hands. The sword gave you a maximum of 200 shield and 200 health, healed you per second, allowed you to farm mats, switch to build mode, and besides the regular swing attack, you could perform a jump that destroyed all buildings on its way forward.
It also significantly influenced the outcome of the 2018 Winter Royale event. Those who had made the best Polar Peak strategy overnight (Winter Royale took place on December 11 and 12, 2018) were meant to dominate the event. Professional player Psalm managed to win the tournament by securing the sword in several rounds. After the tournament, he apologized to everyone he killed with the sword on Twitter. Epic's response? Three days after its release, on December 14, 2018, the sword was removed from the game and only returned in a nerfed version in a special LTM.
Unbelievable that such a thing was ever in the game!
Honorable Mentions
Of course, these weren't all the mythic weapons. There have been many more very strong guns and items in Fortnite's past that definitely deserve a mention. These include:
- Oscar's Frenzy Auto Shotgun
Oscar's Frenzy Auto Shotgun was a drum shotgun in Chapter 5 Season 1 with high damage and high fire rate.
- Peter Griffin's Hammer Pump Shotgun
Peter's Pump was also part of Chapter 5 Season 1. The shotgun had solid damage but couldn't do a whole One-Pumps.
- Tactical Pistol
- Gunnar's Stinger SMG
- Iron Man's Unibeam
- Silver Surfer's Board
- Airbending
The newest item on the list, Airbending, which is also a mobility item. The air wheel is great for covering long distances, and the dash can even be useful in combat sometimes.
That's it for the craziest mythic items for now. More may soon be added to the list if a new weapon stands out this season. We'll update the list if one particularly shines.
